NPD Southampton Ictineo

Received #10 yesterday. It should fit in nicely once I wire this up.

So I was playing mine last night a little. That boost circuit ain't no joke!! Its got some serious headroom to it. I can tell it's going to be pretty bad a$$ through my amp. I couldn't really crank it though. I'm hoping we have practice next week, we had to skip this week. And now that my shoulder is catching up to me (I'm pretty sure I have a ripped rotator cuff, I need to get an MRI done still), the issue is starting to move up into my neck. I can't move my head anywhere without it hurting. Def sucks because this will more than likely curb my playing and band for a while. That REALLY sucks. But I gotta do what I gotta do. I can't live the way I am right now.

But either way, the Ictineo seems like a winner to me so far. I really like it. And @SouthamptonPdls really nailed the look of this pedal. It's beautiful. And it sounds even better. Thanks for doing this man, and @DirtyDuke , I dont think I would've ever been able to get my hands on a real SubD. It was very cool to see you guys birth this one.

Hey, how come you keep spelling it "Icenteo" instead of "Ictineo"????????

Auto Correct on my phone, lol

Just fixed the spelling and added it to my dictionary on my phone and Tablet. maybe we should named it something easier :)

Thanks Greg. I hope you get that issue sorted out and can get back to playing pain free. We really are happy that it has been so well received. Obviously it is not an original design, but it is TOO good not to be available and at a fair price. We are very pleased to be able to offer it.

Thanks Duke, appreciate that. On all fronts. Me and Hamish are in communication and he is doing all he can to be helpful and make sure I am taken care of. He's been great about all of it. I couldn't ask for better customer service. Straight stand up awesome. I know it will come to a resolution. He's just been amazing. And while on a business trip no less. Thanks for the pain free thing too. I will get it sorted eventually. Damn insurance and doctors haha

Don't have an Ictineo and never had a Designer Sub but I've had a regular Submarine and now my overdrive has the Sub circuit built in and I've always liked it after dirt but before modulation.

In particular I liked the way the Sub fed into an envelope filter.

Interesting.....any reasoning..

I like to boost my envelope filter too... especially with some low gain drive.

Edit: Having played it for about an hour, I'm digging the Ictineo at the end of my signal chain as it really does make everything sound better.

I posted this in the other thread (only yesterday) and figured it's fits here too.....

Question:

I own both the Omni Cab sim and now this awesomeness again!!!!

Any preference to hooking them up -
Sub > OCSD straight to input or

Sub > OCSD into the return of the effects loop.

I get it - try and see, but wondering about the why and difference.
