NPD Southampton Ictineo

@DirtyDuke or whoever shared this info: In the other Ictineo thread, someone shared the settings for the clean SVT tone, I have a rehearsal in a few and wanted to try that setting. Please repost here if convenient.

Thanks, Matt

This one?

This is a great freaking pedal.

TBH, I just ordered one because the first run was raising money for the PCDH19 Alliance but now I am SUPER glad I got one. I think I'm going to use it as a sort of 'second channel' on gigs to give me a change of pace option.

It's really flexible and hard to decide what setting sounds best.

Here's a board shot... the space next to the T16 will have Andy's (@emjazz) Longsword filling it next week.

Edit: I'm home sick today, so I have been playing around with the Ictineo and my goodness what a delicious tone shaper this pedal is... spectacular in fact.

Ooooof, that board. So much GOOD.

I regret having to pass on this first run, but feel confident that I shall have one someday. :)

This control scheme is very funky indeed. It's going to take lot of experimentation to dial in something to where I like it. Thankfully the old manual is still around to offer some guidance but the interactivity is a challenge. The manual is right when it says it's tough to get a bad sound out of it but it's going to take a bunch of noodling at practice to be sure.

My advice is to start with the Earth Shaker setting in the suggested settings thing Duke posted and adjust from there.

I was thinking about my noodling around with the Ictineo last night, and this pedal gives me exactly the full tone I've been wanting out of my board. My bass sounds flat and lifeless without the Ictineo on.

This is what it sounds like when you find an "always on" pedal, dude. Congrats on grabbing one - is this your first? :)

Interesting.....any reasoning..

Mostly because I like what it does for my filter. It can act like a boost (which can be great) but even at unity it adds some harmonic content that I really dig. It's filter specific though. I didn't like it as much with the Filter Twin and with the MXR it didn't make a huge difference but with the Xerograph, MuTron, the Wonderlove and (to a slightly lesser extent) the Fwonkbeta I really loved what it did. It's slightly different after the filter but not in a bad way.

With me I'm kind of stuck anyway - my Submarine is built into my overdrive. With wooly ODs (Blueberry, Beta etc) diming the tone knob gives them a modern clank and with nasally or aggressive fuzzes rolling off the tone smooths them out.

It's a great preamp/tone shaped and especially good for tailoring dirt sounds. With the added controls I'm guessing it's incredible.

Shame Oz went out of business. I really dug all 3 of the Electronix/Zeibek pedals I had.

Jared, now you're making me move my pedals all around.

I have the Starblaster and love it!!! Also the stronghold is freaking amazing. It's like the 2 knob sub but brighter? If don't know what it is but it's one of my fav boosts of all time!!! I also have the Less Fuzz and while it's great on guitar it's very thin on bass. I also have the Gemini Drive and it too is fantastic. Mine needs some TLC. Os had some seriously great designs. One weakness was the footswitches. All of my pedals were finicky. Sometimes they would work, other times I had to kick them lol

It's a shame he isn't in the game anymore but we are very excited at how well the Ictineo has turned out!!
