NPD Southampton Ictineo

So I'm late to the southampton party and just got my Fifth Gear this weekend. I AM ABSOLUTELY INTERESTED IN THE ICTINEO. And honestly anything SP makes.
I heard blindrabbit call it an always on pedal earlier. Is it more gainy than the FG? Which would be the low gain option between the two if you had both?

Hi, the fifth gear is definitely the grainer of the two. The Ictineo is a clean preamp with tones of tonal options and eq variations available.
We will have another batch of Ictineo 's in a few weeks time. Please stay tuned as we have several other pedals ready for release and a few more in the final design stages!!

Holy hell. Just got home from practice. This is such a keeper. Not tooting my own horn, but I was blown away at practice tonight at my tone. I just couldn't stop playing. It sounded so good!!! I flipped my Ictineo to boost, fuuuuuuuu!!! So so good. @SouthamptonPdls and @DirtyDuke, nailed it. Oh, I didnt want practice to end! I want to keep playing and playing.

Yeah at first I wasn't sure what it was doing to my dirt sound, wasn't sure if I liked it. But I got it dialed in, oh yeah. Super happy. I dig.

Question: The Ictineo itself is not meant to act as a dirt pedal, correct? It's more of a clean pre?
Hey I've always meant to ask you about your avatar. Do you run both those cabs of the Verellen? Sexy as hell.
That's the impression that I get. I'm not sure how you could get breakup with it unless you're cutting volume on the input side. It has a LOT of output gain.
You are correct. Clean preamp.
Although it seems to me the boost, as powerful as it is, shouldn't have any issues pushing tubes to breakup. But I haven't really tried it yet. But man, I'm tellin you, that boost is one of the strongest and most powerful boosts I've ever played. Got some serious heat.
Nope. In that band the guitar player runs two amps with one cab on either side of the stage, but both Amps on his side. So the Avatar 4x12 is his, and I just set my amp up on his cab cuz it looked cool and I didn't want to lift it on top of the 810.
Fun fact: The 810 wasn't mine either.
I'll have to wait until after I get my Broughton Studio One, since I'm already committed to that. Hopefully the Ictineo doesn't go away anytime soon.
