Double Bass NS Design WAV4 megathread part II

That's what i need to hear...I want them to have a traditional look and handle real Double Bass Strings.

Oh i just got mine yesterday (Finally after looking and getting a great deal!) I love it....my only complaint is the stand but i will just upgrade it later....Sounds wonderful (especially through my WAH! and my Edan):hyper::hyper:

This may have been asked and answered before but I don't have the time to look through the multitude of posts....

I recently got the endpin stand to use with the wav and while I LOVE the feel of leaning the bass into my body I'm having problems with the bass rotating on the stand towards me while I play. It's not anything where I feel the bass move in my hand it's just a very gradual creep that by the end of a tune the headstock has become angled sharply towards my head. After every song I have to loosen the knob and set that bass back to where it was. It's very annoying.

Has anyone else experienced and solved this problem?

Yes, several have had this problem. Some people seem to have solved this by applying some sanding paper to the rubber ring on the stand. For me this did not work. I used to turn it really tight by using the wav itself as a lever. Solved it now by having installing a screw as a pin in the wav and making a corrsponding hole in the stand. Not very neat, but it works and I do not care very much about neatness. If you want I can post some pics.

Makes me wonder though why not a lot more people have this problem. We must be pulling that neck a lot harder than most.

:)
Don't forget the search engine!
Very powerful and can be used within threads as well as within forums.

The search feature did come in handy! It helped me to find settings for specific preamps. I ended up bookmarking all the recommendations for Strings, Preamps, Tuners, and playing techniques for quick retrieval once I actually get a WAV.

Got the NXT, yes it is the heavier duty stand, same as the EU/CR

Bob, when you have the time, updating your Invalid Link Removed, Invalid Link Removed, and Invalid Link Removed webpages with information about the NXT tripod would be very helpful. For some people, the heavy duty stand might help to justify the price increase of the NXT.

I'm having an insane amount of difficulty putting the set of Obligatos I just bought from Gollihur. There was soo much string on the tuning peg it would pop off. Cut it a little shorter, and BOOM- too short.:mad::mad:

I love the ease of using my WAV, but right now the upkeep is superseding my funds as a college student.

Does anyone have advice on this? I have yet to get a concrete answer from people I've spoken to about how to string these things, and now I'm 60$ further in the hole with a school performance Friday. :help:
