Number of people on your Ignore list?

It seems to be a self self limiting problem, the truly obnoxious posters tend to get banned, and internet trolls on one forum are usually trolls on other forums as well. If they don't get the level of argument and agitation they hope for, they get bored and move on to more fertile ground. Problem solved.

I haven't followed this thread, but it makes me wonder if the number would correlate with the level of narcissism a person has.

I had one for a while that just posted on every thread and I got tired if seeing him.
Then I unblocked him and haven't noticed him again.
Probably me.
Some folks are more sensitive than others and need to limit their interaction with social media platforms.
Here at least the twits probably play bass vs random twits on other platforms.

About 5 years ago, on another music forum I hung at was a troll who admitted he was a troll, that he routinely engaged in trolling on religious and political forums.

And he trolled me on that music forum and I got in a firefight with him and we both got suspended. He's back there, I'm told, and periodically gets suspended to date. I never went back, despite a couple owners email-asking me to (and one admitting it was a "both-sides" thing) for a few years after, subsequent to my departure to another forum along with a few other members.

If I could have "ignored" the clown, I might* still be there - the forum had no provision for same.

*Probably not, "both-sidesism" is a bad approach, and not one I am willing I accept.

I don't like to ignore any relevant source of information whether I agree with them or not. Having different opinions on issues is a normal, healthy part of the learning process. It makes you ask the most important question: why? The ability to articulate your position is the problem more often than not, and the occasional attempt to phrase your thoughts in a clear manner that can be misconstrued. Usually people are not so belligerent that they refuse to let you explain your point. There are those that are just looking for trouble, so it seems to be a good policy to treat them the same as your TB pals and extend them courtesy. Now stop bothering me with your stupid questions and play more red. Jimmy!!!!
