NUX MG-30 User’s

I'm going to give this a bump as I just recieved a Nux MG-30. There are no bass drives or drives with clean blend. There is no parallel path option either. No SVT amp model. The Darkglass preamp is clean only, no distortion. BUT the clean amps do sound great and I love Nux's Aguilar model which is also on the MLD preamp.
I was looking into this one a couple months ago. It has a lot to like on paper so I'm happy to see a fellow bassist put one through its paces. I'll probably revisit this unit again eventually, once I get back to gigging, but in the meantime please continue to post your impressions!
As a side...NUX has been putting out some really player-friendly gear for a fraction of the cost of the more "renowned" companies. Lots of guitarist love their stuff, and the reviews on their sound has been overwhelmingly great. I owned their MLD pre and loved it. Sold it when I stopped playing for months. I wanted to consider the Zoom B6, but it's comically big.
i went through a bit of a journey getting to the NUX MG-30.
started with the Boss Katana and GT-1B.
went through the Zoom line - B1-Four, B2-Four, and even the B6 - yes, too big and too many issues with lack of power.
still have a soft spot for the Zoom B1-Four: amazing tones for a $99 unit!
but my signal chain got pretty complicated in order to record simultaneous WET and DRY tracks in my DAW.
took a chance with the MG-400, then upped to the MG-30 yesterday.
the MG-30 completely changed my studio workflow.
my RME Babyface Pro has now been relegated to microphone only duties.
the MG-30 has forced my hand into 48kHz recording territory.
the MG-30 has fewer amps than the Zoom or Boss units, but man, do they sound and play great.
the MLD was the surprise of the lot - and they all take cabinet IRs really well. considerd the Melvin pedal!
USB is a little fussy, but using the MG-30 as an interface solved the issues.
for $50 more than the Zoom B2-Four, it's an amazing deal.
NOT TO MENTION, the insane guitar amp tones!

I was just scrolling through the manual again. There is a ton in here for $300. Quick question: is the effects loop assignable/moveable within a patch?
I have few select 3rd party IRs that I've used with various pedals, but I thought the built-in Aggy and Ampeg 810's on the MLD pedal sounded really good. Also, the visual eq curve feature on the NUX IRs is so damn good. It even reads 3rd party!
yes, it is moveable, i just did it in the editor.

I think it's the same thing...in other words, can you have the effects loop (hypothetically) first in the chain on one preset, and last in another? Thank you for the info, brother!
ahhh, yes, you can, that is correct.
not only that!
you can have THREE "SCENES" in each patch or preset that turn on or off FX blocks in the signal chain for that preset.
it's crazy!
compared to the Zoom G11 for $800!
now THAT'S comical.
I am currently running the MLD preamp, and I love the tones I get out of it! Great through my live rig, or IE’s. Might just have to revisit the MG-30. How are the compressers?

just placed the K comp after the gate in my chain - sounds and feels great.
i've only had this for a day - i'll post some samples this week.
I am currently looking at multi fx units and like the looks of this one. Couple questions:
- Does it have a good true bypass? It will go on the board, but I’ll have a main preamp/DI and another couple pedals I’ll use mainly and don’t really want to have to get a loop pedal if I can help it.
- Does this have a xlr DI out? Couldn’t tell from the pics I’ve seen. Would like the option to just take this unit only to a gig if needed. I could use my amp DI, which is good, if needed, so not a deal breaker for me, just wondering.
