NV215 in da house

It's true that Jim is thinking about discontinuing the NV215. He's pondering the whole NV line actually.

Like it was mentioned before, I'm sure a custom job can be pulled off if necessary.

But like yourself, I'm glad I won't be needing to make that call.

Jim's NV line is IMHO the best cab line....maybe they don't sound as great and fullrange as some ported cabs by itself, but in a mix, they sound excellent...I think these cabs are designed to sound great in a mix rather than sound great by themselves...that is why I prefer them, because in the end that is what comes down to...

I dont see how you could even consider this!

Looks like I will have to save up for my one (or two) very fast.

The cabs are giving me so much gas, if they are no longer available I will probably explode.

I had to choose between the 215 and 610. I choose the 610. However, after some experience with it, I have concluded that, while the 610 is awesome and has tons of mids and lows, the 215 is more scooped and has much better highs. However, I am adding a (Bergie) 210 on top of my 610. I think the 215 would be better stand alone than the 610 at high volumes, but from playing the 610 with 210 it surpasses anything that the 215 could give. I sure hope Mr. Bergantino does not discontinue the 215 though... It was my 2nd pick in the shop! And my 3rd was the 425. Now that definately says a lot about the NV series! By the way, the store carried Schroeder, Aggie, Genz Benz, Mesa Boogie, Demeter, and a bunch of other cabs.

I used to use a HT112 on top of either my HT212 or 310 for a personal monitor.......worked great!!

Did you biamp em with a crossover? Good to know I am not insane for wanting to use this combo .

No on the biamping. I just ran one channel of my CA9 (in parallel) to the NV610 and the second channel to the HT112 adjusting the gains to what I needed. The HT was more of a monitor for me being up head level so the gain was much lower.

Technically, I believe that the NV215 is more tonally balanced across its rated response, and the NV610 has a bit of a midrange push (which may, by comparison, make the NV215 sound a tad "scooped"). I'd love to try a 215/610 rig!

Instead of using a second cab as monitor with nv cabs you could try raising the cab, I did it with the nv215 and was pleasently suprised how the sound got even more defined and crystal clear...I think I will be doing this on tight stages..

i guess this means a classic 400 + NV215 stack won't happen in my house. i'd have to be a big rock star to have a big rig like that, anyway. maybe i should be more reasonable and get another HT/EX-112.

I just A/B'd the 215 and 425....the 425 came home with me. I just prefered it over the 215 which was pretty sweet too. I'll be pumping my Classic 400 through it at rehearsal tonight.
