Double Bass NXT pickup issue / question

Hi all - I got a good deal on an NS Design NXT EUB, but it has an issue with the pickups.

The pickup selector only work in one position, but I can’t figure out if it is the arco or pizz mode. The bass does have an additional pickup installed with a separate output Jack (see pics below).

So, a couple of questions - has anyone ever seen the setup before? Any idea about the kind / brand of the extra pickup?

Trying to discern if the pickup is worth keeping and/or trying to wire into the main control board.

Looks homemade to me.

The extra parts look like piezo buzzers taped to the original bridge. Wouldn't recommend integrating that into the internal circuit.

From the factory, the mode switch in the 'up' position is arco, the 'down' position is pizzicato.

Replacement pickups and switches are available from NS Design, as is repair service.
