I tried REAL hard to like that cab as I think it's an amazing looking beast, but, I just could'nt get a sound "I" liked out of it?
It seemed muffled compared to the GS412 and it was significantly noticeable, when, on a gig, I ran them BOTH togetherit was like the 810 was under a blanket when sitting next to the 412?
Maybe something to do with the GS front porting vs. the DB rear porting as to how it "speaks" but, I just couldn't get into it.
Can't wait to try it.
Got a good deal from a TB'er. It's possible you ran into some phase cancellations between the front and rear ported cabs. That would be my guess, FWIW.
Anyone here visited the Aguilar shop? I am heading down to New York next week, and thought it might be nice to drop by and try some of the cabinet pairings myself. That is, presuming it were an environment conducive to doing so. Is it?
Well, they're based there, right? My old instructor purchased his gear from their office/shop/HQ, and I figured that might entail that they had some public front.
Where does an 800lb gorilla sleep? At the moment, right here:

I dig the sound of the Acme and could probably use it with the db750 for the majority of the gigs I play, but this thread is definitely making me question my Acme and Bergantino faith. When I got this head I thought that an NV610 would be a good match but I get the impression that a pair of db112 cabs would maybe be a close second (and easier to get up and down flights of stairs). Anyone have a comment on that?
Hey Aguilar homies! I have a little feature on the Aguilar website right now. It has Tone Hammer sound clips from my record w/ my band Neon Trees. I'm out on the road using a DB412 and DB751, and have really been able to turn it up and give it a good run. I love it!
