Octave Pedals

EBS is my fave octave for bass.

unlike perhaps 98% of other respondents, I am not merely listing the pedal I own. I don’t own an EBS, and there are a slew of competitors that are likely just as wonderful. But I’ve played it a number of times, and it is the octave I hear in my mind’s ear.

I've found uses for all three of the tone settings and at least 4 or 5 different useful sonic applications in band settings. The switch to change settings works well for my feeble decision-making capacity.

I have an old OC-2 that’s been in my possession for years. I like it’s glitchy-fat funkiness. However, it doesn’t seem to like my active basses, so I have and EHX Octave Multiplexer that seems to work OK. The EHX is a good pedal. I like the OC-2 better.

I haven’t tried the MXR BOD nor the Aguilar Octamizer, but I’ve heard good things. I like the idea of being able to EQ the tones.

I wish I knew of an analog octave pedal with a built-in fuzz channel for the clean signal. It’s one of those things I’ve actually thought of building myself, but I don’t have time to make my own effects anymore.

Such a shame you don't have the time, as the variety of DIY offerings continues to expand and improve. I get it, I've been struggling with time, too. That's why I haven't built up my Lectric-FX Downtown (EHX DLX Octave Multiplexor replica), which of course would be right up your alley and the PedalPCB Ocelot (OC-2) as well. Lots of cool stuff from MadBean as well as several other DIY PCB suppliers.






Other Octaves to add to the thread, ones I haven't really seen mentioned much in Octave threads in general...
