Odd Ball bass roundup

These guys were an early Behringer, just steal everyone else's design and change the cosmetics a bit.

Also Riverhead came out with a model called the Phantom which looks a little bit like the Axstar but with a quasi-head (no tuners) and Steinberger style bridge. I haven't seen one of these in person and don't really know anyone that has one. Really curious about it though.

Did you build it? I actually like it way more than any WB I've seen yet.
Yeah, I had a Wishbass of this shape, I really liked the shape, but it was just too ungainly for me so I built this one using a Carvin neck-thru blank in the same shape. Added a scroll to the top of the headstock, too.

Good grief, you're right!

Here's a bass I tried not too long ago, actually sounds pretty good- not really an odd-ball bass compared to a lot of the basses on here but odd enough, easily available and affordable. :)
Italia Imola.

Hmmm, copyright lawsuit bait, perhaps? That's an Ampeg scroll bass copy (almost). But nice...

My friend made this bas years ago-originally it had 4 strings, but over the years they broke & were not replaced--I later "inherited" it as he was going to throw it out.
I added a machine head and one string.
I was going to add a second, but it was a lot of fun as a one string fretless bass.

Almost forgot about the Switch basses- made of vibracell. I had one a while back, not this particular model but they were actually pretty cool. Wish I kept it.
They pop up on the GC used site every now and then, usually for around $200.

"Vibracell" sounds like something from comic books, like "Vibranium".

What's up with the 3 indentations above the pickups?
