Odd Ball bass roundup

Hmmm, copyright lawsuit bait, perhaps? That's an Ampeg scroll bass copy (almost). But nice...
Eastwood has some basses that look considerably more like the Ampegs. Hmm.. I like those too!

They got a nice looking Airline bass too.

"Vibracell" sounds like something from comic books, like "Vibranium".

What's up with the 3 indentations above the pickups?
These Switch basses were molded in one piece, as in the body and neck. I don't quite know what it is, but a plastic type material. The 3 indentations were finger slots, assuming you're playing the bass with your fingers- you'd pluck the strings with your index finger and pop the rest in the holes. lol - a little like a bowling ball.

Sounds to me more like something you'd find under the counter at your local adult "book" store. :D

I guess you could use the indentations as a kind of thumb rest / positioner, but I bet it was just to try to look "cool".

Bidding on one of those on eBay right now, though mine won't be pink. :D (What is it with pink basses, anyway? I like the kind of salmon-orangey-pink coral "surf" color, especially when paired with seafoam green, but outright pink just don't work for me.)

I've never heard someone call a yellow bass Pink, before. My first, first today. :laugh:
Just put up a new monitor here at work, the old one gave up the "magic smoke" this morning - sure looks pink(ish) to me, maybe this thing's not quite right (well, could just be me, already know I'm not quite right).

Those 3D printed ones are crazy cool, wonder what they sound like - does the plastic affect the tone? Maybe there's a wood core underneath the bridge?

W:cool::cool:-H:woot::woot:!

Some serious win in this thread that I didn't see in the "weird basses" thread.

…a Retrovibe Zygote by ProBass (I seriously dig how that trans-black-over-mahogany creates that smoky red tone)…

Normally I like matching bass / guitar, such as for example Gretsch Jupiter Thunderbirds. I LOVE this Bass King, but Kay's guitar iteration just doesn't look right. Maybe it's the rustic patina on this particular Bass King I find so alluring.

One of my all time faves... a mystery bass.
