Odd Ball bass roundup

I think maybe that one that Buck Rogers was always going to

I was thinking that place that Flash Gordon was always rocketing off to, with Ming the Merciless and all them. Mongo - so sayeth Wikipedia. :)

Flash Gordon's bass :

Now, if you could make one fretted, we'd have a deal! What's the point of two of the same? :D
I should post my fretted/fretless doubleneck in here - don't have a pic handy, lost in an hd crash. :(
Okay, you're now replying to yourself and that's weirder than posting a pink bass that's actually yellow, Lol.

[EDIT]- Ah, you fixed it. Good. Hehe. Yeah that Doubleneck upright is a Photoshop, methinks. Unless....it was made for 2 players? Hmm. We'll leave that one for the philosophers.

Never said I was normal! Better go to bed before I do something even stupider, though! :)

1971 Hayman 40/40. Made by Dallas Arbiter in England for a few years.
Some cool features- Zero fret, Perspex bridge, 1940s style stove controls
Great P-Bass like tone.
Came with original case and smoked plexiglass covers.

I used to have an identical bass-I sold it and the guy gave me a bad cheque and that was it-gone.
Grrrr

double bass?

Treble Bass, actually.

Look closely at the photo, each string-slinger is playing bass – and if you extend bass to include the kick drum... quadruple bass.

Not the same. The neck closest to the player is tuned regular EADG, the other neck has solo tuning F#BEA.

For those who have to double, on synth, I give you Pino Saracini's bass:

This looks better integrated than the FUGLY Ibanez with the mini-Kaoss pad that's been butchered into it. Really Ibanez, if I wanted an integrated controller in my bass it has to look integrated, 'cause I can always butcher a bass myself.

It's only available in BLACK to hide how FUGLY it is. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having a controller INTEGRATED, but this is not integration,
this is a HALF-A**ED HACK. It should be rear mounted with the controls and screen appearing to come through the body, as per the other regular bass controls.

This is better integration. Note how the speaker is not a separate box glued, screwed or velcro'd to the surface of the bass.

They have one of these at the GC near my home. First time I saw it in the shop I asked if they've sold many, he says "not one".

Found a stash of old pics on my work laptop (naughty, naughty), here's one of that doubleneck:

Not all that odd, but...

(and seems like a good idea, but that thing weighs a ton!)
