I've wanted this EKO Kadett for a while.....Mainly because the first guitar I bought with my own money, when I was seventeen, was an EKO acoustic. So I'd like to have an EKO bass.

But I can't find it in the U.S.

The body has a Kubicki vibe to it, which I seriously like.

agree - that perfect blend of retro and modern (love the Kubicki-good eye to make that connection!), in fact, I am officially starting a new movement that encapsulates this called - "Retroderna" (sounds exotic right, like an island in the south Pacific...) There were attempts at this in the 90's especially… attempts is the key word… My Supernova (post 161) and this bass, the Supersonic (shown below), are in the forefront of this movement, which Eko has always been a part of (if not the leader/forefather) Something about Italian design…

If you like that Eko, you'll like Manne basses (Italian maker) Same thing - simple, modern - really nice design.

Yes, my Supersonic was based on the Fender Performer. The Manne basses (as posted by scourgeofgod) are super cool - the dark fretless 5'r looks deadly!

Funny because I started out wanting one but after creating my Supersonic I have lost interest in seeking one to buy. Never even played one - I've heard the sound was a bit anemic and then there's that very thin neck… would love to rock one in a jam session to check it out.

I saw a pearl white Performer guitar in a loan shop recently for about $650 or something. You really don't see either the bass or guitar being used by anyone (now), at least that I'm aware of.

Here's an old Greco from the sixties that I have. The neck is pretty much shot though.
Fret board is separating and truss nut is stripped. Could be repaired I guess.
