Offical B.C. Rich Club!

Pic of neck plate. And added pic that makes it real obvious rear horns are the older body style for warlock bass. With newer ones, the rear horns allways hang down below the guitar body supports. With orig they dont, cause of shorter wings and slightly diff V cut. and thats been the past 25 or so yrs for imports. Not sure about the americans. Cause the passive american one I got in 90 or 91 was same shorter body style. The active nj neckthru bass friend had wouldnt fit the case either due to body to long. lol. The longer warlocks are ok, But I like the shorter version better. Small diff, but nice. lol

It looks like Cort was company before class axe. So I prob got cort version or early days class axe when they was doing good job and still using solid wood bodys. lol. I think my fave thing in class axe days was the crackle finishes though. Something it be fun th see them reissue for finishes. But I do agree class axe brought the first real disapointment with the import stuff.

Hello B.C. Rich Club.

Could anyone tell me if you have seen 'Z-Block' or 'Split Block' inlays on an early eighties B.C. Rich? I have them on my Mockingbird, and never really thought they were anything out of the ordinary; but as I browsed this forum and beyond, I have not seen any. At all.

Possibly a customization long ago? Or I may be using the wrong term when searching?

Also, could I please have a B.C. Rich membership number, and is it possible to make that number 93? GoNuge!...

Thanks to all

Nice find blindeddie.
Never seen inalys like that on BC Rich PeOiler. But being a supreme with full electronics was prob ordered that way by original buyer or shop decided to make it that way for change of pace to add to their available for purchase stock. Nice, I like the Z inlays.

Whats way to tell which ones with all those extra switches and knobs, arent supreme? I thought that was only version that had the electronics package. Cept for some recent upper end import guitar versions with. Ty.

In order for it to be considered a "Supreme" it has to have the following

Cloud Inlays
BOUND Ebony fretboard

The electronics are not a decider as to wether something is a Supreme or not ;)

Can someone help with some info on a Warlock bass?

Here's the headstock.

The BC Rich looks inlaid, but the NJ Series under it looks painted.

Serial number is on the neck plate, which says LA California then USA underneath. Serial is B5960. Single P pickup.

Here's the back of the headstock.

It looks like a scarf joint, but it doesn't seem to an angled cut. It looks like the headstock was tacked on at a right angle. Weird.

Also, it looks like a Dimarzio pickup.

Trying to date it as accurately as possible, but quickly became confused.

Anyone?

Approx 1987, the pick up is a Gotoh copy of a DiMarzio :)

Thanks. It's an odd one. Gold hardware, or at least it used to be. It's pretty well tarnished and worn away.

I'm probably gonna replace the pickup, because since I got it working again (tone pot was SMOKED, like actually burnt), it sounds kinda weak.

If there's no real collectible value I may route for a bridge P and install some EMG's and a preamp (I've got a BTC-SL in my shop).

It has a pretty cool metallic red paintjob, with the usual dings and chips on the points. I won't refinish it, though. The mojo is pretty cool looking.

If nobody gives a real reason not to, I'm gonna fully overhaul it and get it into service again. I don't want to step all over something that may be collectible, but if its not I'm gonna make it a player.
