1981 Eagle Deluxe (Really Miss This One :crying: )

.

No wonder. I'd miss it too, what a beautiful machine!

Hey! So I roam into a GC to buy a bass for writing/recording. I need something small for my rather small guitar player hands/frame. I carry a Tobias to the counter to purchase when I see the "used bass" wall. I grabbed a Mockingbird ST down only to move it out of the way when I discover..."WOW! This has a pretty nice neck on it!" So I continue to play it.... plug it in and it DESTROYS the Tobias. I mean loud...clear...precise.. punchy.. accurate..tight and bell like!! I was stunned. I must confess, I never thought of BC Rich as being a "legit" guitar or bass maker. Not for any particular reason... just not too much exposure to them. I'm embarrassed boys and girls. This thing is awesome. Don't love odd shaped/pointy guitars but there is something classy cool about this.... but most importantly it sounds amazing. I've said so many times it shouldn't matter what something says on the headstock and I feel I'm eating those words. Forgive me fellow BC Rich members...lol!

Hey! So I just thought I'd ask here first about WHY this Mockingbird (full post up above) sounds so damn good???? I did a recording with a Tobias, Musicman Sterling and the Mockingbird. The bird killed the other 2. In a "blind" shoot out even my bands manager and the owners of the other 2 basses agreed. MY bass player has 2 Sterlings and 2 Bongos... so it was quite telling.

Is it the neck thru? The Pickups? The ebony board? I know it's likely all of them but the reason I'm asking is I find the Mockingbird slightly awkward to play...it's rather neck heavy and quite 'Long" for my small hands and frame. So should I decide to look for something else I want to know to look for similar specs. Does anyone know if the Eagle with the 2 humbuckers sounds the same or close?

Thanks in advance!!

Figure this club is the place to ask...

First - would love to join.. Received this gem the other day. :D

Second... help with a case?? I can't do gig bags for a lot of reasons.. Any insight regarding fit would be awesome..

Body is long yet small, top strap button is on the back of the upper horn..

I figure I'll come to the experts club.

I want to play it at a show next week - would love to have a case by then!

Thanks in advance!
