I would say Exclusive rather than lonely.I think the shapes tend to scare some folks, and then they miss out one some of the finer basses and guitars made.
I would agree with that assessment. I removed the finish on my mid '80s NJ Eagle, and the wood underneath very nice. See for yourself.

...That looks like my old red Eagle....did it have a repaired neck crack just under the headstock? Double Quarter Pounders? Rico headstock? I miss that one, sold it when I was super-broke about 10 years back![]()
DanBass, looks like a US Innovator to me. I dont know much about them, though I have a few pictures of them.
