Offical B.C. Rich Club!

My 78 BC Rich USA shorthorn mockingbird bass. (Left handed)

I purchased this bass from pjmuck about a month ago and have been in love with vintage bc rich basses ever since.

Thank you! I love it and I hope to acquire more vintage bc rich basses in my life, that's for sure lol. I love the shorthorn too. As a side note i have Bart's in now but they will soon be replaced with the original dimarzio PAF precision pups.
I really hope to acquire a left handed eagle bass. These old bc rich basses are as i always will say, the best basses I've ever used.

You definately have a fine Mockingbird! I would like an Eagle too. I sometimes feel like I was born too late. How sweet would it have been to buy either a Mockingbird or Eagle brand new from 78-83ish? My Mock was an 81 I believe. My newest bass was made in 96. I don't think I will ever have one as new as this. I am a sucker for natural wood lol

Thank you! And I feel like it would've been a lot easier to find the lefties before high demand came from the web! But it makes those gems you find that much more meaningful. I'm really hopeful about finding an eagle, keeping my hopes up and fingers crossed. These really are the best bc riches, though, and i wish they'd start making them in this fashion again.

Yeah! That's exactly what I have in mind when I am shopping.
I saw several for sale on the evil bay, SB1000's and the like. I have an SB R 60 which is basically like the black n gold I except natural finish... I'm a lefty so it was a LOT harder to find mine but there's several righties up now I'm sure you can find one. Typically I see many going for $1200 or so for the vintage ones. Great deal for these fantastic instruments.

This was my '79 Mockingbird. Mahogany with trans red finish, neck through. EMG active pups, the electronics had been disabled before I bought it. $400.00 back in '83. Wish I still had it..of coarse. I traded it for my first 4 track multitrack tascam.

This is an '82 Warlock that I still own. Bought it new and somehow didn't screw up and get rid of it. DiMarzio humbucker and Kahler trem, single volume knob.

A quick update:

Back in May I scored a Class Axe era Warlock (with hard case) on eBay for a great price. I put in some Fender P-Bass pickups (also a super bargain on eBay) and cut the wire to the tone pot. The tone pot was shot, and I always play 'full on' anyway so it was a quick fix. Well this thing just sings now. The original pups were not very good, and the bass is old and used so who knows if they were even original, but what a difference. For around $150 I now have a great sounding and looking bass that has seen three gigs, and another one tomorrow night. It sounds just as good as my trusty Fender, and I find it to be a little more 'playable' due to the thinner neck. Pictured below with the Dog of Rock. I ditched the inlay stickers, though, I just didn't like the look of them after I put them on.
