Offical B.C. Rich Club!

What's the deal with the inlays on the Warlock? Must've been something they did custom for him rather than a "prototype". Looks cool, but also looks like someone has messed with it in different areas.

The Warlock is factory stamped as "proto" with a date in 1982

Unsure about the inlays, here's a pic of Neil with it

Hello Dear BC Rich Gurus !
Could you help me identify this baby?
Thanks for your help.

I think it was made between 1989 and 1991 by Class Axe.

Do you know which exact model is it?
I mean in the BC Rich catalog.

Is it all original?

@johnk_10 I've owned this neck-thru Mockingbird Classic for about 5 years now, have attempted to contact BC Rich via three different methods/venues (phone, email, Facebook), gotten no return responses whatsoever. Trying to determine the build year or at least some idea of it's age (purchased used, dude I got it from didn't know either). Would you have any idea of how to determine (at a minimum) it's build year or anywhere to go that could help figure it out. Serial number is 7304327. I'm guessing it's an early 2000's, from the serial number possibly a 2004? Appreciate any help you would be willing to offer, TIA.

i don't know what year it is but i have one just like it. i think that it's a little later than a 2004 but i'm not sure. i think they were introduced in 2006.

Check for dates on the pots. I don't think the serial numbers follow any date convention. The thing could be from 2006 up to a few years ago. They are a little different now. The pots should tell you the approximate date.

Looks like a Mockingbird body but the bolt-on pointy headstock looks more entry level (cheap) than a typical mockingbird or Eagle. Honestly I don’t know but it is interesting. Thanks for posting

Its a pre class axe (probably 87/88ish) bolt on USA, looks pretty standard, everything looks original although I'm not 100% on the bridge but it seems to match the other hardware. Kinda uncommon as most USA bolt basses were ST or Warlock at that time however uncommon doesn't alwayw translate to desirable or valuable, pretty solid decent bass that will bring around a grand give or take

Just became a BC Rich player yesterday. Found a Warlock in a pawn shop, in need of some work, for $120. Someone had tried lowering the action by filing out the nut, and overdid it slightly. The A string buzzes pretty badly on the open string, so I'm probably going to raise the bottom of the notch with some epoxy, then re-notch it to the proper depth. There's some other buzzing as well, which may require either raising the bridge saddles a hair (which I hate to do because I'm loving the current string height), or else leveling a pair of marginally high frets, otherwise it's got impressively fast action. The strings might even be original, they're a dark brown from oxidation, pretty disgusting. Body is in "average" condition, and the headstock has a number of small dings on all of the points, but overall, I'm liking it a lot.

This will join my Rick 4001, Kramer DMZ6000B, and Westone Rail. I recall wanting a Mockingbird or Rich Bitch back in the '80s, but not liking the prices at the time. A Warlock with the bolt-on neck is a step down, in my opinion, but still a nice piece of machinery, and I couldn't refuse at that price.
