Just finished watching it on the DVR myself. Good game. Entertaining to the last second, for sure.

I thought that the defining moment of the game was when Pittsburgh had a 2 man advantage, *2* of the 3 Flyers skaters broke their sticks, and Pittsburgh still failed to score. I can't remember ever seeing a situation before where a team only had one skater with a stick in his hands!

MAF is an incredible goaltender. Massive props to that guy.

Kinda hard to keep your legs under you after 4 and 5 day breaks in the schedule; followed by back to backs and weekend games. Luckily the difficult part of the schedule for the month of Dec seems to be out of the way and was pretty successful for the Flyers.

I think it's easy to overlook,...but Hartnell is having probably the best year in his career with the Flyers so far,...not to discount what he; Briere and Lieno put together last season.

Flyers lead the east,....Giroux extends his scoring lead to 2 points over Kessel. This kid is so legit.

Who would have thought that the Flyers; revamping the bulk of their team in the off season and playing a large amount of rookies while also enduring a number games lost for their captain due to injury, would be tops in the east in the meat and potatoes portion of the season. The 1st part of this season has been a joy to behold. They may not be winning these games gracefully,...but they sure are exciting (and at times infuriating) to watch.

I keed I keed,...but seriously,....join the Darkside,...you have a team to be proud in the Wild,...leading the league on a budget is no small task.

Since Comcast screwed me out of the Pens/Flyers game, I watched that instead, and that game was a lot of fun! The Panthers look like a very scary team; they're incredibly fast on offense. I was rooting for the Bruins, in hopes of keeping the gap between the Caps and Panthers smaller, but alas, it was not to be.

Caps play Toronto tonight; a few weeks ago, Toronto slammed the Caps 7-1 on home ice. This time, the Caps have the home advantage, and I'd love to see 'em get 7 goals!

I had a hard time believing that part. Couldn't believe Pittsburgh couldn't put one in there. Awesome work by Philadelphia's PK, also awesome work where they got a 2 on 1 break down 2 men and Fleury had to make the BIG stop on his old buddy Talbot from Timonen!!!

Like I said earlier, had Fleury not been on top of his game early on, it would have been a blow out.

Was waiting to hear big POP from Fleury on that goal scored by Briere! That hurt just watching him TRY to make that save. I thought he popped his groin for sure! Crazy goal by Briere. His sides probably still hurt laughing at how he got that one.

And Hartnell's game has matured with the loss of Richards and Carter. Without those two around, he's jsut a completely different player and I really think it's because of the people he's hanging out with. He's an animal on the ice again like he was his first year in Philly.

And what more can be said about Girroux? With first line time, it's his turn to shine!

Eh, the Pens pp has been spotty this year. They were shutout on two five on threes in the Bruins game this past Monday.

That's it, I'm done. The Pens suck and the season is going down the drain. Go Oilers!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the best remedy when your team is on a losing streak? The Islanders. Perfect timing for the game in Uniondale. It started out rough, but the Pens behind James Neal and Malkin turned up the intensity and took care of business. I thought Sullivan played well while Niskanen continues to fit in better with this team. Kennedy was his usual wild self making plays. Tough call on Hamonic though I have to admit.

I just caught news about Pronger and his concussion symptoms. That really sucks. I hope Flyer fans don't have to sit through what us Pens fans did.

Time to run back downstairs and watch the Battle of Alberta, the two western conference teams I like the most.

Nobody seems to know exactly what they're dealing with regarding Pronger. They're not sure when/if a head injury occurred. But he's having headaches. Very strange.

Then to make matters worse, as mkandolf mentioned, Giroux and Bryzgalov left tonight's games with injuries. Giroux took a nasty knee to the back of the head from his teammate Simmonds, who was trying to jump over him because Giroux was down on the ice. Giroux never knew the knee was coming.

All they're saying about Bryzgalov is "lower body injury". Braydon Schenn also has concussion-like symptoms. This sucks...

I was initially worried about a possible concussion for Giroux,...but I don't think the contact with Simmonds was that hard. Violent for sure,...but not head slamming against the glass or full body check to where the head is the "principle point of contact" violent.

I would be surprised if it was more of a sore neck type of deal, but this is purely speculation. It would suck to loose Giroux as I'd love it if a Flyer won the scoring title.
