I saw the Giroux injury. I'm with you, I think he'll be fine. Thank goodness, he is having a great season. Did you see what happened to Bryzgalov? I haven't been able to see the play or moment where he got hurt.

Nah there was glitch in the feed and when it came back Bobs was making a save and I was like "Bobrovsky"?

I was definitely more concerned about those two then the outcome of the game at that point. Glad we got the two points but sheesh,...if they Flyers don't give me a heart attack one way they are gonna give it to me another way.

Bryz may have hyper-extended something but I'm hearing groin/leg ("lower body") from the Flyers and that it's nothing serious. Seems like they held them both out of the last portion of action for precautionary reasons.

Good thing Bobrovsky is a solid goaltender; a good insurance policy. Maybe Lavy needs to start giving him some more starts. I don't see him being a career backup.

Did you catch the postgame where Bryz was trying with a straight face to say it was an equipment problem? He finally admitted he isn't a good liar and said it was lower body. I thought it was funny, he was just having some fun with the media guys.

Bryz has got a great sense of humor. There is a good laugh to be had towards the middle of this vid;

,.....but sometimes it's a little painful to watch him interact with the media. Often times if he doesn't understand the question he just gives a semi rehearsed answer,...but to be fair,...there is definitely a communication barrier with him being ESL. With Bryz; I don't think you can use very many American colloquialisms if you are a reporter.

I don't know what sort of media pressure he had in PHX and I wonder it is any heavier in PHI.

I would be surprised if it was more of a sore neck type of deal, but this is purely speculation. It would suck to loose Giroux as I'd love it if a Flyer won the scoring title.

I didn't think it looked all that hard when I first saw it. But then watching the replay (several times), his head really snapped forward with a lot of velocity. I'm sure that was because it came from behind and he was not expecting to be hit. That's often the worst type of hit because they don't brace at all for the impact. I sure HOPE it's not serious.

Are you serious with that last statement?

That's why Homer and Lavy took him away from the reporters for a short time. He just wasn't used to the media pressure, especially the Philly reporters. Philly is one of the hottest ports media towns in North America. Much, much worse than Phoenix. I don't think Bryz had a clue what he was getting into when he came to Philadelphia.

Philly, NY, Boston, Toronto, Montreal are the worst pressure cookers for NHL players. These towns will boo the players like none other and the writers will tears them up in their columns.

A very strange (and costly) win for the Bruins in Columbus on Saturday night.

The bad news - Chara out for 1-2 weeks with what the newspapers are guessing is knee sprain.

The good news - Corvo got his first (and second) goals as a Bruin. The B's were 3 of 6 on their own PP.

The strange - The Bruins were not taking care of the puck the way they normally do and they took some stupid penalties.
Thomas was not particularly sharp and let in one fairly soft goal in 2 periods of work. Rask started the 3rd period with the score tied and Columbus with 1:30 left on a PP - he shut them out and the B's scored twice to win the game.

The B's fought through the adversity of the slow start, I hope they can do the same with the adversity of losing their #1 defenseman and captain.

NHL.com is reporting that Giroux is likely out against the Caps on Tuesday. With all due respect to Giroux, that's good news for me, since he's a beast, and the Caps could use a win. That said, even a Giroux-less Flyers squad is a tough team.

By puck drop time tomorrow, the Caps will have had a four-day layoff, which means either they'll have had time to continue to work on Hunter's new game plan and they'll be sharp, or they'll be tight, slow, and give up three goals in the first period.

This year? It's been the story for Philly since the late '70's early '80's! Between untimely deaths and concussion issues, we've been at the forefront of it all! :rollno:

Heck, it cost the Flyers the Cup in '76 with the eye injury that ended Parent's career.

The Flyers report that Giroux is continuing to feel better, but will not travel with the team today and will be seen by the Flyers' doctor again tomorrow.

That doesn't necessarily rule him out for tomorrow night's game, as Washington is a short 2-hour train ride from Philadelphia, but it definitely seems like the Flyers are being extremely cautious with this injury.

"Claude reported not feeling very good today," Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren said. "Over the past few days, his symptoms have gradually gotten worse. He will be out indefinitely."

So much for the Flyers' prior reports of, "Giroux is feeling better today."
