SVT-3 Pro, SVT-48HE, SVT18, all made in the good ol' USA!
Nice. 8's and an 18 together.....I'm curious to how that setup sounds
Um, the 8's can't really keep up with the 18, more of a problem of paralleling a 4ohm (18) with an 8ohm (4x8) cab. I really need a SVT-4 Pro and biamp, but I like the SVT-3 Pro's tube driver stage, so I might try a speaker level crossover. Or a SVT-410HE instead of the SVT-48HE.
Problem with that 3Pro rig, is they shouldn't be driven under 4 ohms. The 18 is already a 4 ohm cab. Ideally, if you want to run 2 cabs, they should both be 8 ohms. The 3Pro is in danger of burning up as it's set up now.
After years of not "getting" the Ampeg vibe, I recently got a V4BH and I like it

Yeah, I'm working under the assumption that the 18's impedance rises with increasing frequency, and the 4x8's impedance rises with decreasing frequency. At least that's the theory I'm hiding
behind. The speaker level crossover would definitely help keep the load up.

Except that it doesn't, to any meaningful degree. What it will do though, is seriously shorten the life of the 3Pro. Just trying to help a brother out. I wouldn't run that rig like that, if it were me.
Ahhhhhh finally!! Alright I got the B2R, SVT-410HE, and SVT115E, and soon to be arriving the SVT-4Pro~!!!!! Now I just have to figure out how to upload some pix? Any help?

I'm not sure of the specs of the Ampeg 18, but I had a look at the impedance curve of the Eminence Delta Pro-18C, a 4ohm 18". The impedance is up to 8ohms by 200Hz, climbing steadily through 24ohms at 1kHz and beyond. I'm going to stick a 50uF non-polar cap in line with the 4x8 this evening.
