I own a 4pro and a svt410hlf, does anyone here mono-bridge this setup? Sending 1200watts into the 410HLF?

I'm lacking some power and so i'm thinking of upgrading to a 610hlf or isn't it safe to mono-bridge it with the 610?

been wanting an answer to this question for quite some time, so i think here's the ideal place to ask :hyper:

RMS is an average power. you should look at the cabs program ( peak power) for better cabinet/amp matching.

I run 2 Svt 810's from a 3000 stereo watt amplifier that pumps 1500 watts at 4 ohms into each cabinet. The 810's RMS power is 800 watts, but the program power is 1600 watts. As you can see, I'm running these cabs real close too there limit but that's what there made for.

The 610 cab is rated at 1200 watts program, (you can verify this on the spec label behind the cabinet) or 600 watts RMS. this will be fine with your amp. But remember in bridge mode, you can't have a speaker load less than 4 ohms, so you can't add any more cabinets but you will get the most output from your amp running this way.
One thing to consider, running the amp in bridge mode produces more heat. If you have this amp in a rack, you will need to cut out some 3 or 4 inch side vent holes for the fan or the amp may shut off until it cools. Your best bet is to not rack mount it when using it in this manner. Also be sure to use the correct bridge mono cable or you can damage your amp. You must use an Neutrik speakon connector w/+1 +2 wiring that plugs into the amps speakon output going to a Neutrik speakon connector w/+1 -1 wiring or a mono 1/4 inch jack plugging into the speaker cab. Ampeg should have given you one with your amp.

I think the 610 or 810 would be a good choice. the more speakers will produce more sound and the mono bridge power would definitely give you the power increase your looking for!

If your still not sure of this, you can verify the cabinets max rating at Ampeg .com tech support via e mail and they are real good at answering all your questions.

For those wondering:
I had the Micro-VR and two 210-AV cabs for a while reviewing the for BGM; and that's good stuff.
Clearly, as a solid state amp it's not gonna overdrive and grind like the big SVT...and, clearly, as something with less watts in a smaller package, it has volumetric limitations...but: the tone is really great, and with two cabs, it's plenty for most of the jobs I do. Especially with the two cabs stacked "tall-wise" into a 410 line array.
The cabs play well with other heads, and are meg-light.

im looking into buying a micro vr at the moment!
