2x SVT 2Pros (1 clean, 1 efx)
1x 8x10 (split. top 4 for efx, bottom 4 for clean)

Everything is white because I play in a band called The Snow. Although, Ampeg sent the wrong grill. It is supposed to be the silver one from the vintage cab. It's on it's way, and I'll edit this when I get it.

Oh, can I be number 00? It goes with my myspace... pb00. :D

OK, I finally got off my butt and I'm ready to join the Ampeg club in a big way! Feast your eyes on this blackened beauty!

1966 B-15N Portaflex, THE classic! 30w@8 ohms, and what I just discovered half an hour ago is the original double baffle speaker design! See those shadows on the grillcloth? They don't show up in regular light. And as I've always been careful not to touch the grill, I never knew that it was double baffled. I always just assumed that it wasn't. I'm not sure if it's been re-covered or not, but it's black tolex and not the cool checkered covering, but who cares?? This thing sounds like a dream!

It's been through the mill, though. The head's been dropped by the previous owner, and it's missing a few original knobs and the original plexiglas, and it could use a good servicing, but it's got the magic. The knobs are set where I like its sound the best. This gives it a good full-range sound that is amazingly present and versatile for a 15". I recently used it with a Jay Turser Beatle bass on a small Bowzer convention gig in a hotel ballroom with no PA support, and bass was by far the best sounding instrument on the stage. Had a fat bass and mid presence and a thick but full top end, and I didn't even crank it that hard. It's the only 15" I've ever liked by itself.

Best of all, I paid $150 for the whole thing 7 years ago! I was having trouble with my regular rig, and I called a friend with a ton of gear sitting around asking him to rent me something. He lets me borrow this and says he wants $150 for the whole thing and I could pay him when I could, which was nice because it was a bad time for me financially with my wife in college and not working. He was sooooo cool about it, too. He quit the band I'm in now to play guitar, and he favored modern rigs anyway and he knew I loved vintage Ampeg, so he said, "I know I could probably get a couple hundred more for it, but you would really love this amp and give it a good home, so I'll cut you a deal." What's funny, though, is he actually made a good chunk of change on the flip! But even though I haven't talked to him in a couple years and I goof on him for being a hippie who plays 6-strings, he will always be my best friend ;) Billy, if you're reading this, thanks always!

I'm retiring it from live work with the little Markbass 12" combo off to the side and a 200w reproduction cab from www.fliptops.net, but I'll keep it until I'm dead and it will accompany me to every session I'm called for that can use its sound, which is most of them these days.

Sorry to go on about it, but it's a really special amp and I just found out that it was even more special than I thought it was with the speaker being double baffle. You may now feast your eyes on the granddaddy of all bass amps, albeit a crapped-out looking granddaddy :bassist:
