2x SVT 2Pros (1 clean, 1 efx)
1x 8x10 (split. top 4 for efx, bottom 4 for clean)

Everything is white because I play in a band called The Snow. Although, Ampeg sent the wrong grill. It is supposed to be the silver one from the vintage cab. It's on it's way, and I'll edit this when I get it.

Oh, can I be number 00? It goes with my myspace... pb00. :D

I own an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro and an Ampeg SVT 810 HPC cab. Both are made in the U.S. and that was a must when I was spending such a large amount of money. I just want to know What an SVT 4 would do when mine cant even be played at full volume without shaking the foundations

I have an Ampeg SVT-5 Pro and a PR410HLF and I can't get rid of both of em fast enough. I do not like the tone at all. And for being a 'pro' level cab this thing farts out with the amp EQ flat, AND I can't have any treble coming off my bass of the whole cab lights up like a tree most people put up this time of year. And there is just way too much wierd stuff going on with the amp to get into in this thread. That's why I'm getting a NV610 cab, and Mesa/Boogie amp.

And people say they are worried about the new over seas Ampeg stuff, both of these 'gems' were made here in America and they're crap.

Not much, to be honest. It's mostly for headroom. But if you're satisfied with your own particular wall of sound with the 3 Pro, not a reason in the world to change.

just an SVT-2Pro

Vietnam is proving to be a real black eye for Ampeg, but I'm not a huge fan of the SLM era, either. I own an SVT 3 Pro that went to the shop twice and the factory twice before I gave up on it. Now it sits in a storage unit and I'll probably just sell it for $50 for parts. Served me well when it was working, it just hardly ever worked. Plus, I just recently found out that SLM Ampeg used pressboard in their cabs. PRESSBOARD IN AN AMPEG???

On the other hand, I've played many rented SLM Ampegs that were just fine. But give me a choice between a beaten up Ampeg from the 60's or 70's and a cherry SLM unit, and I'll go vintage every time.

Don't understand the point of the club, but I've been using Ampegs since 1976, I currently own two SVT's a 76 and a 77, owned a '70 at one time, own a 1959 Ampeg Bassamp 835 and two B-15T's and 1 B-15S.
I also owned a V4-B some years ago, and has a Skunkworks head I bought brand new. I like the 70's heads better.
SVT's are the best amps going bar none. An old SVT properly taken care off will last your whole life, my cabs are mid 70's SVT cabs with all original speakers and I have not always played softly.

Anyone here who is having trouble with newer Ampegs go out and buy 1979 and earlier Ampegs especially SVT's they are built like tanks and last forever. I had an early SLM SVT though and it worked fine and I have two early 90's B-15T's that work well, although I only used the speakers in them now with an SVT head, sounds like a giant B-15.

The point of the club is to post pics of your gear, then have everyone ooh and aahh over them as you ooh and aahh over theirs. Sounds like fun to me ;)

I'll try to get some pictures taken. I put a picture of two cabs, two heads and about 6 basses taken on my back porch once in a forum and one of the members said I bet you don't have many mosquitoes around your house, haha!

I had asked this in the amp section Amp thread. But here is probably better.

Has anyone experienced a somewhat loud hum when switching from standby to on? Mine does it intermittently. The amp works fine and the power output was measured around 290+ W. It is somewhat of an annoyance.
Thanks
