OFFICIAL ASHDOWN CLUB

If weight is a factor and $ is not as much of one, I would suggest 2 410 RM EVO cabs. They are 45 lbs each and the 610 is 112lbs (some places list it at 124lbs). I use them and a pair of 210 RM EVOs. They sound fantastic.

Too bad I only have a Ampeg PF 800 Top, marked at 4 ohm. I can't run two cabs with it it seem.
Thats why Im looking at a really cheap Ashdown RM610-T EVO cab.

Just run it mono.

You can run two cabs without any problem. Min load at 8ohms, but you can run one cab at 8ohm, one 4ohm or two 8ohm. If it only has one output, you will need to use the link out from the cab to the input of the other cab.

I didn't know you could use both at the same at time.

2 8ohm 410s is what you would need. Even if you only had one output from the head, you can chain one cab to the other. All of the RM cabs that I have seen have a link to chain cabs. So if you just want to use the single speakon out to 2 cabs, you're still good.

Thats amazing news. Learn something new everyday! Thanks alot.

Have some of you tried to play Ashdown cabs with a Ampeg head, or Orange? Do the Ashdown cabs play well with other brand tops?
I guess we still will get a good tone out if it even if not using an Ashdown top right?

Also, what is the difference between the Ashdown cabs ABM 410H and RM410T ?
I know very little about these cabs, and want to get new amps for my rig, it seem the AMB is favored here on TB?

Im used to play Ampeg, and are scared that I wont like the Ashdown, but I really like the prices on them.
Do you know if they are good for metal with distortion or fuzz?

A local venue over here have the ABM 410H, I should go there and ask if I can try it next week.

For me, the biggest difference between the ABM and the RM is the weight. The ABM is around 80 lbs or so and the RM is about 45lbs. The sound is very similar. I replaced my ABMs with RMs because of the weight. I do like the ABM a little better, but the difference in sound isn't night and day like the weight so I didn't feel like I was sacrificing tone for weight. I play metal and use distortion/fuzz here and there. I have been very happy with my Ashdown rigs.

Thats good to hear.
Atleast that its nice when fuzz or distortion is engaged.

Also looking at a Barefaced 610. But the Ashdown RM610T is like under half the price.

Needing some advice, i currently have an ABM EVO ii and an ABM 210 compact cab, I'm wanting to add another cab for the louder gigs, i'm tossing up between an ABM 410 for a good price or an ABM 115 compact cab, both used. I'm thinking if i get the 410 i wont need to take the 210, but the 115 will be lighter.

I'd go for the 410, for the reasons you mention. It's a flexible setup, where you can either take one or the other, or both, depending on the size of the venue and how much you want to carry.

I run an ABM 210 and ABM 410 myself. Great setup.

If you're not opposed to getting a non ABM cab, the RM EVO 410 is great and light. GC has a used one for $299. I do like the sound of ABMs a little more, but the RM EVO is no slouch. I've played through an ABM EVO II with 2 RM 410s for years and just recently grabbed some of the Pro NEO 210s only to downsize a bit.

Been getting the itch to try a new amp. Nothing wrong with current amp,(older Markbass LM-ll), still sounds great. I just think I'm getting ear fatigue and want to hear something different. I've been looking at a few amps and the OriginAl 500 is one I'm considering. Anyone here using the OriginAL? If so, what do you like most about the amp? If not, what kept you from pulling the trigger on one?
Thank you, and wishing all a happy Thanksgiving.

Curious folks' thoughts on the ABM810 cabinet, at least in comparison to an SVT cab. I am not gonna get the opportunity to try out this Ashdown 8x10 first and an just going on faith that I'll dig it(it's brand new in the box still). It's the previous iteration of the one out now. This is the one with two 1/4" jacks and one speakon and I think no tweeter/horn. The specs say it should handle the lows at big volume a little better. I play fretless exclusively at big deep volume in a duo with just a drummer. We are very loud. Will probably try using both the Ampeg and the Ashdown at the same time with my big RPM-1 rig I posted up there.
