Having spoken to someone very much in the know, go with the ABM. The ABM will slap the RM down any day of the week and is easily repairable if anything goes wrong it. The only advantage the RM has is light weight and size.I’ve got to say, y’all don’t make my decision on getting the ABM600 or the RM800 easy. I’m told I can’t go wrong with either one; but, I can only get one, and it may be my last for quite some time. Now, I read these…these…CTM posts…I feel like Charlie Brown trynna kick a football!
If you like the hassle of maintaining tubes, then the CTM is your amp. In other words, get the ABM.I’ve got to say, y’all don’t make my decision on getting the ABM600 or the RM800 easy. If weight is not an issue, I'd go with the ABM. The RM are pretty good amps, but the ABM is superior.
I've got a RM800 and I've never touched it lol....I guess it never got me curious. Maybe I should give it a turn?!?Just ordered one of those red RM300s from Sweetwater. I know the ABM is the superior unit (I briefly owned the UK made 12 band) but I wanted something tube free just in case the shortages last a long time. In the sparse reviews on the RMs and ashdown in general I notice a lot of complaints about the sub octave just making mud. But then I read the manual and...

Maybe folks are just using too much?
I almost went with the 800 but remembered I traded my last 800watt amp to stop the constant visits from the police.I've got a RM800 and I've never touched it lol....I guess it never got me curious. Maybe I should give it a turn?!?

Outside of the SH knob how do you like it? I like the ashdown voice from the 12 band 600 and my little bastard.I have a RM800 as well. And I’ve played around with the subharmonic knob. I was not impressed. Perhaps, as @Nuage420 pointed out, I tried to use too much? Maybe it’s one of those “if you can tell it’s on, it’s too high” kind of things….![]()

@Naigewron yeah, i haven't checked any UK based forums but i can't imagine them being such a huge company over there and maintaining that feature if it was useless. Thier signature amps are for artists who are definitely touring artists (Geezer, Shavo, and Pratt)and none of them ommited the sub octave.
