Can I be a member too? Just got the 750 a few weeks ago from Quadzilla and just got the 305 from a fellow tb'r.

just played up at my church (havent played in a while so it was nice to be with pro musicians and a pro setup playing to a big crowd for a change!) and the sound guy said over the talkback mic after I did a little soundcheck "its really nice when I dont have to eq the bass at all, thanks man". I was using my natural '95 atk 305. my go-to bass. Its a guy Ive been friends with for a long time, and trust his ears entirely. he went on tour for Jeremy Camp and did sound. always great getting a compliment like that

Yeah, attack mode is the way to go for the ultimate stingray-ish slap-tone. I sometimes use bright mode with slap but that's a totally different tone. And yeah, scooped mids are a bit better for slapping but in a band situation it's better to boost the mids. I boost my mids almost to the max along with some treble and the slap tone is pretty good. However, for soloing scooping is a bit better. IMO.

if anybody is looking for a rare "USATK" 5 string, pm me. I'm probably going to part with mine as she gets little play because I'm mainly a 4 string guy. It's in amazing shape and stunning. For those of you that don't know what a USATK is, Ibanez commissioned Dave Bunker, a well known luthier here in the USA, to custom build a small batch of ATK's in the early 90's. These were hand made and had the "Bunker neck system".

Bass is an amazing player, gorgeous to look at (a BIG step up from a factory ATK) to die for. Wait until I post the pictures of mine. It's damn near breath-taking! It's essentially a custom made boutique bass with ATK electronics.

I'll be putting her in the classifieds soon, but anyone from the group here can PM me in advance. This is a rare opportunity as these do not come up for sale often (especially the 5 string version).

It's so cool you still have the ATK305 I sold you about 3 or 4 years ago.:cool: I should be back in the ATK club in about 10 or 12 days. I honestly cannot get over how nice these basses are considering that except for the rare American basses, they have never been big ticket instruments,
