Exactly. Speaking of which - and being new to the world of ATK's - I was thinking how great the ATK300 I recently bought during the big MF blowout would look with a chrome pickguard to match the bridge. Is this possible? As in do they make metal pickguards for them? I have no idea and don't recall having seen one on any previous model.

Sorry for the "newbie to ATK's" question. :)

The metal PG's I have seen have been DIY jobs.

Pickguardian can make PG's if you trace yours to be sure it fits. They have many different materials available, but I'm not sure if metal is one.

I'm looking to be part of this club soon. Hopefully I can play one soon. I also posted this, just in case anyone is looking to sell. I need to learn more about these basses, but I'm wondering if this is too much to ask... http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=721399

I guess unfortunately for you it might be too much to ask. I know they were blown out just over a month ago, but I doubt youre going to find one at this price. there have a been a few in the classifieds, but for the most part they are being sold for a little profit. I know I and others have said on this forum that they are worth the original price, if not more. If you can, get your hands on one in a store (some stores still have them) and decide if you really want it, and if you really want it, youre going to have to pay. Other than that just hang around here in the classifieds, maybe after christmas someone will put one up in good spirit. good luck though, they are fantastic basses. not just for the money, but fantastic overall.

Justin,

Thanks for the advice, I know I'm being really picky, but why not right? haha... except for the fact I may never find this particular bass. I'm wanting to learn more about it, and I want to play one very soon. Nowhere around me has one to try out, but I'm keeping my eyes open. I'm guessing I'll have to pay full price, but if it's worth it, I might as well. Might have to pick up a new one. I'm reading all the posts in this thread, and liking everything I've heard about it so far.

Hopefully one will make it's way to me after Christmas.

Thought I'd get a decent picture of my Bassculture+Jazz ATK up after nearly a year now... By the way, if anyone can give me some suggestions of stuff to play then I'll get some DI samples going...

I'd really like to hear about how you went about customizing your 300, and hear samples of whatever you want to play that shows off its tonal range.

I just became the happy freakin' owner of a brand new 750KA. Will join the group when I have a few shots together, but at this point I just go into a trance, put the camera down, and start funkin' groovin' with this very fine bass. :bassist:

hey guys, just curious. I am in limbo with preamps right now, and was gonna wire up my atk passive to he jack.....which wires are going where now? remember its a stereo jack, and I dont htink I need all three prongs for this application, correct? my hots are red and green, and the white and black are eitherr commons, or together, or something. but the bridge ground and pickup ground go where? thanks :)

Link to said auction? I'd be interested to see where auction pricing puts it. I finally picked mine up w/ all the stickers etc. still on it so I can't complain. Plus I get a free used gig bag ;) I literally had to miss out on about 4 classified ads on here though. Patience lol.
