I bought my ATK700 from Zounds back in '05 (I think). At the time, the price was just a bit over $500. No regrets, as this is a very fine example. Can I get a number?

I just want to look at her and drool over here. you're talking about a dragonburst=green center to blue out right. ala Carvin or Dingwall (those two come to mind first) that would look so good. Ive had thoughts about buying another 5er, sending it off and getting it defretted, and refinished in all snow white. ALL white. except leave the hardware chrome, and throwing my tapewounds on it. then I would have ying and yang fretlesses. two flavors. mmmmm

well for me, it HAS to be a five. I just cant play a four anymore. excited to see whats coming though. finally a prestige model, that's a step forward at least.

In other news, I've been invited to provide the low end for a new project and I couldn't be more excited. It's hard rock/metal with some industrial touches just for effect. I also decided to try and tune down my ATK3EX1 down to B-E-A-D on a suggestion I got here and it seems to handle the lower tuning just fine. 2010 was a a lot of fun, but I think 2011 is gonna be an all out blast! Here's hoping all of your's exceed your expectations!
In other news, I've been invited to provide the low end for a new project and I couldn't be more excited. It's hard rock/metal with some industrial touches just for effect. I also decided to try and tune down my ATK3EX1 down to B-E-A-D on a suggestion I got here and it seems to handle the lower tuning just fine. 2010 was a a lot of fun, but I think 2011 is gonna be an all out blast! Suffice to say, I can Dub my brains out, now that I have a working neck pickup. I've never heard low end like I'm getting out of this thing. Huge, and yet still surprisingly distinct. Definitely a cool mod, even if I did lose some hair drilling the hole between the control cavity, and the new pickup rout...

I've been playing my sparkly 305 for a few weeks now and I like it a lot. The fact that I paid so little for it makes it all that much sweeter.
However, the position of the output jack is pissing me off. I have one of those A frame type stands and I can't put it in the stand without unplugging the chord. This does prevent me from leaving the thing plugged in overnight and draining the battery but it's a major inconvenience when you just need to set it down for a minute.
I'm gonna open up the cavity to see if I can relocate the jack.

Two things here: First, I've "circled" in yellow the two spots that the cover screws were supposed to go into. For some reason, in addition to being misplaced, those screws were put in on an angle (I'm guessing about 35 degrees) with the business end directed in to the cavity. Oh well, the cover's not going anywhere and the other 2 were fine.
The second thing is that the closest place to move the output jack is where I've marked with the golden X. I wasn't really in the mood to unclip all those wires to see if I can move it without having to splice in some extensions.
Now, check out the spacing on the string ferrules- merely cosmetic, but I'm thinking these guitars may have been seconds.
Finally, here's a shot of the battery compartment. As mentioned earlier by someone, the threaded inserts are a nice touch, but I prefer a battery compartment that doesn't require a screwdriver. Pretty sure I have one somewhere, but its installation will require the use of power tools.
