but two One10 would do? I'm still thinking of which other BF cab to order, another One10 or SM? My intention is two use both during gigs to provide full 4 Ohm output from my amps. Two One10 would be more efficient cause they have equal volume potential. But having SM as a second cab gives a chance to use it separately and to have both colored 10" driver One10 and flat sounding 12" of SM...

Not based on my experience trying to use a SM alone for a rehearsal with my band. Granted, the boys get pretty loud (ear plug loud), but we were also in a small room. I've had decent success running drum machines and synths through my BB2 with a much louder band. However, I felt bass through SM in a confined room wasn't enough cab. If your band is restrained and the room isn't enormous, it could work. But if you get at all lively, I'd say the SC (or a Two10, which has similar output) is as small as I'd go.

Two One10 cabs should be nearly identical to a Two10.

Add in the extra 3db/headroom from going to 4 ohms, and you should be okay if the One10 is doing it for you now.

Were I in your shoes, I'd probably get a 2nd One10. I have heard that the Two10 puts out pretty good volume, and as monsterthompson says, you'll gain a few dB since they'd run together at 4 ohms. I think Alex doesn't really recommend mixing the 10's and 12's but some have done it and said they liked it fine.

The reason I personally, re: my own current gear, would get a SM instead of a second One10 is that I can pair the SM with the BB2, and I could use the SM in places where I might otherwise use One10x2. Nonetheless I think 2 One10's would be a very useful and eminently modular rig. If I didn't already have the BB2 I'd go that way myself.

Hard to argue this from the source. I suppose I should be clearer about the "loudness" of the SM. I found the "reduced" lows resulted in me pushing the volume and low eq more to "make up" for that. The cab felt like it was struggling for the tone I was trying to achieve (nothing radical) in the band setting I was in. It may have been audible in the mids and higher, but it couldn't deliver the lows I was after in that live setting, whereas the the SC seemed capable of delivering what I was after in the same environment.

My experience:

(1) had a Super Midget (2) sold it to get a BB2 (3) sold the BB2 to get back to the Super Midget. With the BB2 I had to dial back the lows. With the SM I boost the lows a bit to get it to sound like a smaller, lighter, dialed back BB2.

Sounds right. The BB2 is big in the bottom (talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em...). The SC is a Goldilocks blend. Though, I'd rather cut the BB2 than boost the SM. A SM stack seems like it'd couple well and be pretty sweet, too. I'm assuming there's a reason Alex hasn't offered a tweetered SC. I'm assuming the cost and sale price wouldn't make sense in the existing product line.

First gig with the Big Twin II last weekend. So great to finally play through it in a live setting! The venue was pretty small so no PA support needed. Dude running sound just had vocals and brass running through the PA. I saw him put a couple of mics up and said he was going to record it. I figured he was wasting his time and figured it would come out boomy and the levels wouldn't be right. Surprisingly, it turned out pretty good... evidence of how well the bass was cutting through. That has been a struggle at times in the past, with a hard hitting drummer, loud guitar, trombone, trumpet & tenor sax. Struggle... no more! I could hear myself so well on stage... clean, punchy, articulate... at times in the past things got a little muddy/boomy in this room. Not this time. I got several comments after the show on how good the bass sounded. Maybe I shouldn't admit this, but the most telling came from my Mother. Yes, I said my Mother:wideyed: My mom is 66 years old and has only seen me play in this band 3 times in the last couple of years. After the show, I asked her if it was too loud? She said that it wasn't too bad and that this was actually the first time that she could hear me real well and actually hear everything I was playing. She loved it! There you have it... Barefaced - Mother Approved:D

This cab is already so good... and I don't even have it completely broke in yet. Sounds awesome with the Demeter! Next weekend we will be playing a much bigger room without PA support... can't wait!:bassist: Feels good to finally be confident that I have a cab that handle any situation I put in.

Just depends on how loud the band is and how big the place is.

I've done gigs with low/moderate volume groups in small/medium places with one SM and it was plenty. With PA support I've used it on on a couple of larger stages as a stage monitor and again it was plenty.

My advice? Get two!

EDIT: I should clarify: Don't get two because "one isn't enough". Get two because they're incredible cabs!
