Sweet Monarch! I had one on the board but it combined with a poorly designed cab to produce a wave of low end mush, so it got the heave-ho in favor of a B3K. Once my Super Twin arrives it's going to get another look!

Hey all, got a new head that only supports 1 speaker.

It only puts out 50watts into 8 ohms, but I felt like my Super Compact was moving quite a bit. I know 50 watts into a cab rated for 600 should be fine, and I know the drivers are designed to move more than standard drivers, but does this look normal to y'all?

I read a recent Twitter post where Barefaced ran out of woofers but are still taking orders.

I would like to think that they are proceeding with the rest of the ordered bass cabinets construction so that the woofers can simply complete the cabs when they arrive (and then quickly ship)?

Yes, we ran out of both 10"s and 12"s but manufacturing has continued (can't send everyone home!) 12"s are due to arrive today so we'll get those cabs finished and shipped asap.

There is a delay on the 10"s because Eminence have found spotted a change in material characteristics on a small but critical part which is used across a huge amount of the speakers they produce, including our 10"s, which affects the power handling. They're doing everything they can to resolve this and will be air-freighting our drivers as soon as they're been remanufactured.

Are the 10" drivers in previously manufactured and sold cabinets such as the Four10 I purchased when you first introduced them affected by Eminence's component issue?

I'm finding the BF vs Berg comparos illuminating. Thank you DaveW. Can anyone speak to a BF vs MAS vs AK cab comparisons?
I too have been very happy with my bergs for several years but I keep looking at both BF, AK, and MAS as possible lightweight contenders. I think more about this as I both age and try to downsize my vehicles.
So if any of you can toss out some head to head comparisons it would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone compare and contrast a BBII, to an AE212?

I have a BB2 but no experience with an AE212. However, I did have an AE210 vertical for a while and it was a nice cab. The AE210 was definitely more mid/upper-mid forward, which is why it does well in a live mix. I play a lot more alone in my home studio than I do in performances and noticed that mid bias didn't sound as good alone ... a bit too grating for my taste. It's possible the AE212 has that similar voicing?

The BB2 provides a far more even response. If there's a need to boost mids or upper mids, I prefer to do that with my amp rather than have a baked in cab voicing. That makes the cab more versatile. Especially since I tend to cut upper mids more than add that content.

Another benefit of the BB2 is it weighs just 29lbs. And it can get far louder than I thought possible for a 12. I sold my second BB2 because it was unnecessary. Unless you're carrying FOH, how loud do you need to be onstage w/PA support? I might eventually swap the BB2 for a SM (a "mini BB2") as my gigs are looking to be more acoustic in nature and the SM reportedly rival's a Greenboy Fearless 112 in volume. That would be enough for me.

Anyway, Berg makes fine cabs. I've also owned HT115s. All good. But I like Barefaced better!

P.S. Also had a Thunderchild 115. Beautiful, even, clear tone. Pristine. More like a PA unit than Barefaced does it. Still like Barefaced better!
