Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

I have recently ordered the Barefaced two 10...and also have the Mesa D800. Can't wait to get the cab...what's your verdict on the set up?

It's a great pairing! Thick/punchy lows, polite mids and tame highs. If you are going for that vintage sealed cab loaded with 10's vibe, this is it!

If you like one cab, you'll like two of them three times as much!

I just got two One10's to use with my Mesa D800. i agree with @Fekwood, very warm and thick sounding. Forget shimming highs (yeah!) Forget mid-bass bump (2x Yeah!). Think of your favorite vintage tone coming from a small light-weight cabinet. If you are looking for Hi-Fi clank, look elsewhere. Want a nice, full tone that fills up the bottom end, think Barefaced.

My big twin II is arriving tomorrow!!!!

Sorry, probably the day after tomorrow - an incompetent FedEx UK driver made off with it and by the time we'd spotted the problem the FedEx International van had been and gone. Very annoying! Hope it's worth an extra day's wait!

I can give you first impressions only as I have not giggled the BF/D800 rig yet. I'm in the middle of packing up and moving this week so it's been a bit hectic around here lately and I've only had the cab for a few weeks. (Bought used on TB).
It's definitely got a different vibe than my other cabs (2x Baer ML112 and 1x Berg AE210) as its emulating an old school sealed (although its ported) cab (which I've never owned). As such, there is a bit of sonic adjustment going on with my ears. I've made some adjustments to the eq on the D800 and the cab is more broken in now. Control settings right now are \ \ \ \ / ---> / , approx from left to right on the knobs with the BF. With my other cabs, the treble control is at noon. As stated above, it's thick and punchy and I would like another one too.

I have two Barefaced Retro One10 cabs, currently powered by either a GK MB800 or a GK MB200, depending on the gig. The MB800 is about to be sold as I have a HandBox R-400 amp on order from Poland (hand-wired, class A/B). In 35+ years of playing, some of it professionally, and 20 years of working in the retail and wholesale music industry, I have either owned or played through virtually every major brand in existence. Not only are these Barefaced cabs the best sounding I have ever used, they are lightest and smallest. The only cab that matched them for sound quality was a Greenboy Fearful 12/6, but the size and weight of the Barefaced suit my bad back much better.

After your move has settled, I would love to hear your comparison of the Barefaced 210 vs. Baer ML112. I have 2 x ML112, but am itching to try out the BF210 retro. I love the Baer cabs, but very curious how they compare to the Barefaced.

I'll try for next week.
I love my ML's too so I can understand the curiosity. Im going to put a few more hours on the BF when I get moved. Then try them with a few different amps and see what I've got. Should be fun.

Great stuff. Thanks for this...really useful. With the D800 and BF 210 I am after lightweight portability, together with volume, punch and clarity. Hoping my set up will deliver all of this.

I ran the EQ flat and voicing at 2 o'clock, DEEP disengaged. Man I loved it. Here it is, in all its monolith glory. All 36# of it! :woot::woot:View attachment 917639
I am looking at the same set-up now. Does the D800 fit on the top of One10?, on your picture it looks like D800 feet are too wide to fit in between the metal corners of the cab.

Nope, fits perfect if you slide the head back slightly. It will hit the corner screws if you try to make the front of the amp flush with the front edge of the cabinet. When positioning the cab horizontal the handle gets in the way.

I think it sets well and looks great with the Mesa back slightly from the edge of the cab.

Thank you!

I am still struggling with Aggie TH350 pairing with One10 cause it turns that I play dark-sounding bass with humbuckers through dark-sounding TH350 amp to vintage sounding One10, so the whole chain lacks some treble. I have this one One10 and another one on order, so I am looking at the best head choice for this mini stack. Currently I have my TH350 and GK MB200 (for smaller settings). The choice of heads I can buy now used is: GK MB500 Fusion, Genz-Benz 900 Streamliner or MarkBass F1. Or I may swap my th350 with TH500... Which of them would you guys chose for One10?

Have you tried the Walkabout with any BF cabs ?

Yes, often :)

I have a WA 12: combo and I can fit both One 10s on top of the combo to run all 3 at 2.7 Ohms. I also use the WA head alone with both One 10s-IME the power match between head and that stack is great. With the Walkabout at it's clean volume limit or a hair beyond, the cabs can take it all and are in their grindy zone.....really sweet. My other current cab to mix and match with is a Subway 12". If I put it under the Barefaced One10 stack, the Walkabout is loud enough for a heavy rock drummer with head room, and the D-800 is overkill.

A few months back I tried the Walkabout with the SC, but the head lacked enough grunt at 8 Ohms to make that a good pairing for me.
