EXCITING NEWS, you heard it here....
I wrote to Alex asking about ordering a Two 10 to sit on my Four 10 and whether he could also send the other crossover so I would have both 12 and 4 ohm options, meaning I could swap them over and use it at 4 ohms as a standalone cab.
He just replied to me with the following:
"We've just managed to make a switchable impedance Two10 for someone with a Six10. It's a pretty cool modular solution."
For me this is huge. It effectively means I can ditch every other cab and with a Four 10 and switchable Two 10 do any gig I want. It is also the sign of a company which is listening to its customers and wherever possible developing products to suit.
Of course, pure gas and sheer greed mean I also see a BB2 somewhere in my future![]()
That is great! Switchable, as in flip a switch and it goes form 12 ohm to 4 ohm and vice versa? No harness swap? Almost sounds too good to be true. But if true, I will definitely have to get one eventually, as long as cost is reasonable. I wonder if it will be priced the same, I certainly hope so... but perhaps there is more materials cost. Did he give any indications of availability or other details? If the cost is the same, then when making these available I think he'd immediately sell more Two10's than ever before... I'd been thinking about getting one, but what has held me back is that, as a stand-alone cab, the 12 ohm would have limited applications (just an extension cab, basically) and the 4 ohm HAS to be stand alone and does not have a pairing option.
And yeah, you'll have to get a BB2 also, Tim, I think you'd love it. I keep going back and forth between the Four10 and the BB2, depending on gig, band, venue, and mood. They are both fantastic.
