The tens do respond nicely to a bit if treble boost if that is your thing, they just are not voiced to accentuate it (speaking from experience with my Four 10 which I assume is essentially a potentially louder One 10).

Some new experience to relate on gigging out with my BB2 + SM ...

Big thumbs down. Just a meh tone. D /G strings had no weight. I'm positive someone more adept with the WA's dials can do a lot better. Just seemed like nothing I tried worked. WA goes to classifieds

Fabulous tone right away. Tweaking led to even better. So much heft all across the spectrum. I feel this combo make my playing very responsive. I don't play as hard to get the desired attack and lower intensity playing immediately projects as desired.
Love the BB2+SM performance so much am thinking of not moving with my planned BT2 purchase. Big question is: what's a better schlep - 2 one hand carries or rolling larger box (47#)?

My problem is weight so I always go for the lightest carry even if it means more trips. Modular works better for me.
Some combinations just work and some don't. That's why I stuck with Bergs for so long. The amp I used didn't seem to bother them at all.
So far my SC's are the same. . . sounding just great with my Aguilar TH500, Mesa D800 and Thunderfunk 750.
I just added a SM to my BB2 about 10 days ago, and like it a lot as a combo.
To each their own of course, but I like the modular system, b/c you have options.... small (SM); medium/large (BB2); and large/large (BB2 + SM).
In fact I have a One10 also, so I have all kinds of options: tiny (One10) small (SM) medium #1 (SM + One10) medium #2 (BB2) or large (BB2 + SM). I hesitate to call a BB2 "medium" since it can cover a lot; for 90% of my gigs, a single BB2 will cover it, but the tone of two 12's is pretty appealing even when you don't need it for volume.
The one advantage to a BT2 is it has caster wheels, as you noted... but if I am going big and it's a long haul down hallways, elevators etc (read: hotel etc) then I cart it anyway; and if there are stairs, you're really better off with two smaller cabs than one big one IMO.
Also, sticking with what you already have, SM + BB2, which you already know sounds awesome, is the most cost-effective choice too.
Wow-one man's ceiling is another man's floor , LOL. For my ears, the Walkabout kills through virtually every cab I have played it through except fEarfuls, which require more juice to sing to their potential IMHO. On my pair of One 10s, with or without a Mesa Subway 12 added, the Walkabout puts my grin on every time. Different strokes. Glad the SL is floating your boat!
For me, I went with two small lighter boxes (One10's) through a Mesa D800. I use one of those light-weight folding hand trucks to schlep it all, My total weight for my rig, bass, amp, cables and all is under 50#.
I went light due to my health and getting older. I shopped around for about a year before I finally bit the bullet on the Barefaced and the Mesa. I have about $1600 invested in my gig, which also sounds crazy to me in a way. But at the same time, GAS is no longer a part of my life. Although sometimes I dream of getting another Barefaced cab. drool
But none of this would matter if it didn't sound good. To my ears, it sounds great. My band buddies (and my wife who is in the group) agree. Life is good.
I've liked higher powered heads through my BB2's. I've tried some lower wattage heads and they didn't quite do it for me for whatever reason into them. My thinking is that these boxes just like to have more power, whether that's even remotely accurate I couldn't say.
I've owned a Walkabout a bunch of times and really love it but I never had a chance to use one with Barefaced cabs.
As for the schlep of one vs two? I've historically been a one larger box kinda guy until I had an issue on a gig where I thought my cabinet was going down mid set. That's when I started looking at a different option...I wanted a pair of cabs where each one could handle most gigs on it's own. That way if one went down that the other could hang on it's own. A pair of BB2's were my answer...
Doesn't sound crazy to me at all. Last year I bought a new Radial pre, a Bergantino NV115, a ToneHammer 500, a Bergantino CN112 and then a Barefaced One 10 (didn't hear about Barefaced until late in the year when the One 10 came out). I made around $1,000 playing so I was nowhere near breaking even. But my tone is 100% better and I have rigs that can handle practice or any gig that comes up with no craving for any more gear.
Could you offer a opinion about the difference in tone between the barefaced and the Bergantino ?
I don't think I have quite enough data yet, but the prognosis is good. On it's own, I've only played two 2-hour cocktail happy hour sets, so very low volume, and not yet fully broken in at that time. For what it was required to do in those gigs, it was great. The only higher-power gig its had so far was not stand alone, but used with BB2. It sounded great there, might have started to open up (it was immediately after the 2nd of the 2 cocktail gigs), and I was hearing prolly more SM than BB2 since it was on top, close to ear level. That was a jam we hosted, and there were quite a few nice basses brought in that night-- my Smith, another guy brought a Roscoe, also an Alembic showed up, and the dog of the group, an American Fender Jazz V. All sounded great.
So, long story short, it sounds good but I need a little more break-in time and stand-alone gigs before I get serious about evaluating it... so far so good but I can't declare it a winner until it competes in a few contests.
Well they are both good, different flavors of delicious. Both cabs are truly well designed and well made.
The One 10 doesn't have as much high end but it has plenty for me, I tend towards a more deep and vintage sound and The One 10 can do that with a solid low end and still be clear. The NV115 has a really solid low end, to me it sounds like you are hearing more of the fundamental, like a really powerful and clear PA system and the mids are clear without any harshness. The sealed NV115 pairs really well with my Tonehammer. I had not played if for like six months and then gigged with it and was really impressed. I bought the CN112 because I needed a smaller cab to fit in my Miata and it is my go to cab for most gigs, always easy to get a good tone out of it. Very good dispersion, very clear, solid lows. If I had to do it again it would probably have made more sense to buy 2 CN112s but I currently play in two acoustic bands and play at very moderate volume levels. And having variety of gear to use is nice. Not any good bass shops in Roanoke but Rocket Music in Blacksburg is a Berg dealer and made a couple trips there last year.
You might be the closest Barefaced Owner that I have seen yet. No one in Roanoke knows what they are, I have had people come up to me and ask me if the TH is going to blow the One 10 apart!
I've never tried a Super Midget but it would be nice to do a comparison with the CN112.

Thanks. I got try out a Berg HDN112. I liked it, but it had more of the modern "mid-forward" sound. Closest Bergantino dealer to me is Charlotte, NC, and they have minimal stock. I tried out a Genzler BA112-3 also and it had a deeper bottom and smoother top end, similar to my One10's.
It's like that here in Hickory, NC. If it ain't Peavey, Fender, or Ampeg people think it is an "off-brand". Until they hear it.
Yes, The CN112 is very much a modern, clean hifi sound. I dial the tweeter back some and find that you can eq it around to where you want it pretty easily (as you can the One 10 unless you want a lot of snapping highs).

It's exactly the same way here in podunk Blue Ridge Ga... you mentioning something that isn't Peavey or Ampeg and folks go cross eyed with confusion...
I have to drive 45 mins just to get any work done on my basses... an hour and a half to Atlanta or Chattanooga try out anything that may interest me.
