Actually, I found the SC more enjoyable with my Buster than I did using a Two10. It may have just been my tone preference, but that's what I liked.

Actually, I found the SC more enjoyable with my Buster than I did using a Two10. It may have just been my tone preference, but that's what I liked.
I've played my V4B through a BB2 a few times. It sounded great!
Maybe I'll bring it to my next big gig and crank it through a pair of them.
Just buy a Four 10. Still a very easy schlep and magnificently drool inducing. Far and away the best ten cab I have ever played in forty odd years of bass playing. It will do just about any indoor venue I can imagine playing and I have yet to hear it strain. Still sounds wonderful at quiet levels too and almost as good with solid state as it is with tubes. This cab is the sleeper in the range IMO as a do all and the one to go for if you are after a one cab solution.

I'm also surprised how much I like the tone of the One10 after always having brighter, more modern sounding cabinets. I bought a used BB2 last month and have been enjoying that one a lot (haven't had an opportunity to use with the band yet, which might be transitioning form "on hiatus" to "Hey, what happened to the band?!?!"
), but the One10 definitely has its own tone that fits better where a warmer, vintage-y tone is called for.I bought the One10 because I thought it would work well with my Precision for an acoustic-ish project I'm now trying to put together and, after playing with it for a week or so, I'm completely convinced I was right. Playing through any of my heads (the entire G-K MBxxx line plus the D-800), the Precision never sounded so good. Unfortunately that test also got me thinking that a semi-hollow might be even better for that use, but that's a story for a different thread ...

I do have a nice 4x10 now (Berg AE410) but I'm looking for something that's even easier to carry around, even if it means a couple of cabinets, so that's why I'm changing direction now. I started down this Barefaced path thinking that a pair of BB2's that would cover any volume level I might ever need to provide and then a One10 for its own purposes would be where I end up (already have one BB2) but the tone of the One10 is a nice switch from my previous cab's that I'm liking a lot. Now there's a small part of me that's thinking a pair of Two10's rather than a pair of BB2s might be an even better choice.
No decisions yet, though. I need to play these cabinets out first before changing direction ..... again.

I already own 2 BB2's but was thinking of picking up a BF One10 as I have been going through FOH PA for most gigs. Most of the places we play are tight bars. We play classic rock at a medium loud level. I was thinking of using the One10 as a monitor for my bass and stack it on PA rack near ear level. Use the DI from my Mesa D800 directly into the board.
I would keep the the two BB2's for gigs where I don't run FOH and outdoor gigs. Would the One 10 work for me using it as a monitor with FOH support?

I think that sounds like a excellent idea. Heck, a One10 is so small you can set it on the front line facing up to you like a traditional wedge. Then your getting bass lousiousness directly in your face while the cab remains coupled to the floor/stage.
On stages where you band's stage volume is under control, yes IMO especially if you are situating it monitor style, closer to ear level. Depending on what "medium loud" is-- might be kinda loud if you use 1 or 2 BB2's for it-- you might want a 2nd One10 as well (or a two-ten). A single 10" speaker does have its limits, even a fabulous one like the One10.
Honestly there are so many uses for a One10 that I think everyone who can should have one even without a definite idea of how they would use it beforehand. Just my suggestion, but if it were me, based on what you've said, I'd get a One10, see if that's sufficient; if not, buy a 2nd. You do get a depth of sound from 2 or more of these 10" drivers that you don't get from just one-- but that is true of almost any cab. Many here probably now I am lucky enough to have several various Barefaced cabs -- BB2, SM, Four10. Others may go louder or be good for bigger venues, but none of the get more use, at home and at gigs, than the One10 does.

I was a bit put off by the "Retro" name and "old school" comments... Yeah it can do that sort of sound, but not only that. Seriously, if you're out there looking for cabs, do give these ones a whirl. You might just fall in love too
That's why we changed the name - they started out as the Retro Six10 and Retro Two10 but the more we used them the more we realised that was underselling their tonal versatility. We haven't used up all the original serial number labels yet, so some of the 10CR range still say 'retro' on the back but we don't call them that anymore.
So it's just the Barefaced Two10. Simple. Versatile. GLORIOUS.
Just got the shipping notification for my Four10.. can't wait to play through it!!!
It'll be glorious. Love mine. If you don't use one normally, try an all-tube head with it sometime. Glorious to the nth degree.
I have both an Ampeg V4B and a Mesa Prodigy ready to rip through the cab when it arrives. I'm REALLY excited.

I put a deposit down on a Super Twin a week and a half ago. I'm pretty pumped. I'm hoping this will be the last piece in my quest for tonal domination.
I went with the ST because, well, $300 is $300, and I'm playing in situations where face ripping is a higher priority than nuanced articulation.
I went with BF because the website meets my gear nerd standards, and I like that they are rethinking the bass cab from the ground up. It isn't just a slightly modded guitar cab design that has been around for 50 years.

Good move, but I'd always advise that if you have specific objectives you email Alex and tell him. He's a very good judge of how to fit his cabs to players requirements.
