Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Looks like BF team is still busy after the show? I sent deposit for a SM and two reminders but didn't get any reply or confirmation... I sold one of my One10 (as I understood that BF 10" don't do the job for me but it's just me again) and decided to keep the other one for a while just not to stay cab-less untill I get my SM. Unfortunatelly reading the feedbacks here I realize that the lead time is now much longer than it was in 2016.

Well after 7 weeks of waiting Alex and crew shipped my BB2 yesterday , overnight priority and it is on the fed ex truck out for delivery. At least they take care of you once they ship your cab. Thanks Alex and Harry...
Alex and team definately take care about the shipment. In my first purchase FedEx returned the shipment from Moscow to London because they could not deliver to residential address in Moscow, so Alex re-arranged the shipment to my business address and I got my One10 just in a couple of days. Superb.

Guys, how many of you went from SM to BB2 and why? I'm thinking if I made a right choice ordered a SM or should I go straight to BB2?

Went to BB2 because I was doing more work with the cab for synth and drum machine work, so I wanted full-range and deep bass in a single cab. For just a bass cab, the SC would've been a one cab solution for most of my needs. The SM tweeter wouldn't mean much to me as a bass-only cab and the low end of the SC is better. The SM was just short of what I wanted for volume and low end with my head and band setting. I probably could've pushed it harder, but didn't feel comfortable doing so. Hindsight says a SM might be enough. A SM stack would be really nice.

One of each, for Little, Big, and Stack. Modular solution.

I think there's a tad more bottom end reserve on the BB2, not that the SM is lacking bottom-- it's not. If you're not hyper-concerned about size and weight and the cost difference seems small enough to you, the BB2 does everything the SM does, just more of it. 8 pounds heaver at 29 lbs and a little bulkier; the SM is nearly the ultimate walk-in-and-play-with-authority size. I am glad to have both, I can have exactly the right cab set-up for a variety of situations. If more is better than less as a principle, then the BB2 might be a good choice, having more than you need is seldom bad, but less is. That said, I just played the last two gigs, not especially loud, with the SM and I was really fond of the tone.

I've never gigged the SM "big"... like monster's situation when he had the SM, I haven't tried to find its limit yet. But, I have played some full-on gigs with the single BB2 without ever thinking about volume or speaker protection.

All of that said: you have the SM on order; if I were in your position I don't think I'd switch my order. You seem to value portable size since you've run the One10's, but from your vid clip you posted a while back, you like to play with some solid authoritative (but not necessarily aggressive) tone; the SM is a good blend of these two goals. And, as always-- you could always move the SM for a BB2 if you really felt like it, after trying the SM.

Stumbled upon a guys YouTube channel a few days ago... he just plays covers of various songs from different genres.. to me, he's quite good.
Regardless, he utilizes either a One10, or an SC... I've been eyeballing both, so his channel quickly got my attention...
Both cabs sound absolutely Great!
But something about the SC keeps grabbing more of my attention, not sure what..
Now I'm trying very hard to not pull the trigger on one... sigh.. :meh: :nailbiting::help:

Just in case you are interested in how One10 sounds, I made a couple of home demos with my One10 testin my new Spector basses. The first one is with GK MB200 head, the second one is with Aguilar TH350.

Thank! Sorry for repeating the same queston, I'll scroll back and read.

Unlike Jx, I just went ahead and answered your question, lol. No passive-aggressive post referrals!

I kid, I kid-- Jx is a great guy. And well qualified to give you a good breakdown on the two.

My apology. I didn't mean to come off as having an attitude, not my intent at all. I went through and looked for all my comments on the SM vs BB2 and meant to offer them as help, writing down the post numbers as I went along. In retrospect it would have been better if I copied them and inserted them into a single reply rather than supply the numbers.

I just got my notice that my cab is almost ready. No begins the odd process of paying for it.
I received a PDF with some info on it and I'm trying to do it through Bank of America's Website. If I tell it that it is a domestic transfer, it wants a US address, but the address on the PDF is UK. If I tell it international, it says the Swift Code is a Domestic on. Any ideas?

You did not at all, not in the least -- I was just kidding around. I am not to be taken too seriously. That's actually quite kind of you to compile that list.

I wonder if they are giving you a bank in the states as a go between here and the UK. I work for a bank here in New Orleans and will have the same problem soon hopefully. I ordered my BTII on 2-14, when did you order your cab?

I ordered the same BTII on January 20th and just got my notification to pay today. Can't quite figure out the transfer either. Wish there was an easy way to do it with paypal credit...
