There's a LOT more bass in that little cab already, although I have to admit I put the amp to flat with a wee bit of bass boost today, where last week I had a lot more mid and high dialed in.

kringle77... Enjoyed your vids as I have with your others in the past. The cab sounds great and the form factor looks amazing. Can you shed some light on the import/customs process? Are the fees paid at delivery, or prior to that? Are they a percentage of the retail price or ??? Thanks for any info you can share.
I dont know yet. Ive read that people usually recieve a bill after delivery. I'll keep everyone posted.
Thanks for posting these videos. They are quite useful in getting a feel for the cab. Gotta say I like this Super Twin better than any other cab you've demoed. It's got balls and sounds huge -- very muscular and solid, even, and punchy with no overhang or ring on the notes and translates growl and overdrive well. I've been considering the Big Twin II, but what Alex said earlier about that 3" center dustcap extending frequency response to about 10 kHz (at a much reduced-15dB sensitivity) has some interesting implications. I've run flatwound strings and played some 15's which really don't have anything over 4 kHz so I'm sure even from those demos that there are harmonics and other useful audible content above 4kHz. My favorite micro is the Gallien Krueger MB Fusion 800 which has great tone and kicks like a mule but is quite aggressive in the high mid/treble region. With a cab like this Super Twin you could probably run the high mid and treble flat for a brighter sound without being harsh. It would probably also work well with a pick where the high end gets too clacky with an extended range cab.
One thing I've noticed is that when you turn up the treble, it sounds more like how ferrite drivers have sounded to me in the past. More rounded, not harsh, and can get that little bit of growl or .....almost compressed and distorted in a good way, the way a bass cab should sound. Every other neo driver I've heard sound too clean. Good but, too clean. Maybe Im not describing it correctly but, whatever is going on, it makes me excited to play. Im sure that it's just the voicing of the driver. Alex did it right. I can say without exception that this is the best overall sounding and performing bass cab driver I have ever heard. I don't think anything else has been even close.

I know it's early days, but has anyone on TB replaced a 212 or 2 112 cabs with a Big Baby 2?
I have 4 cabs sitting at home taking up space my wife would rather they didn't! If I could replace my 3 112's and 212 with 2 BB2's I'd be very happy.
My Berg cabs sound fantastic and the opportunity to reduce cab numbers is very interesting to me, but I wouldn't swap them out unless I had a step forward in tone.
So can 1 BB2 sound as loud and as good as a 212?

I have replaced two SL112 with a single BigBaby2. It is not quite as loud, but I can keep up with 2 guitar players, a loud drummer and a vintage type keyboard player, using an Ashdown ABM500 or a MarkBass TA503

That's a difficult one.
The SL have a certain bump in the mids, the BB2 is flatter.
The Waveguide in the BB2 is MUCH smoother than the "regular" HF in the SL112.
You can turn the Waveguide all the way down and still have greta treble response with the BB2.
BUT a single BB2 is "only" 8ohms whereas a 2 x 112SL stack is still 4 ohms.

I know this is just plain crazy but, I just put in an order for a second Super Twin and a new Carvin DCM3800lx amp to power them. I'll either be using my genz as a preamp and just take the power amp with me when using both cabs or put the carvin in my rack with the VTRM preamp and call it a day. I may be able to use the carvins onboard dsp to add any eq that I may lack with the VTRM. After they break in alittle, these cabs can get scary loud and sound good doing it. I only am going to have a pair because I can. There are very few gigs where I would need more than one, but I'll have them.
