Website says it's 500W RMS or up to 800 if run clean. D800/+ can be dialed back to 600W if you flip the 2ohm switch and of course there that other knob to play with so it's no worries. The D800+ is a great head for that cab and I can see 2 of them being a great thing vertically.

The Mesa 800+ is a fabulous match with the Barefaced 10s. Just kills with a Four 10 yet is equally at home with a One 10.
That said, IMO the voicing of the 10s makes it just about impossible for any amp to sound bad.

I don't understand why the whole "the amp is 1000 watts and the cabinet is 400 watts so if you use them together you will blow the cabinet up" thing keeps coming up. Don't turn the amp all the way up. don't turn the bass knob way up and play loudly. Don't play loudly if your using sub-octaves, synth sounds and/or a highly distorted bassy tone. Use your ears and common sense. Headroom is a good thing and will allow you to fully realize the cabinets potential. Exercise caution and common sense.

Yes, it is doable in theory although the actual electrical impedance of each 10 is I think somewhat less than 8 ohms (although as Alex has explained this is not precise as impedance varies with frequency - I think that is what he meant) so you may end up going under 2 ohms which could challenge some amps.

Firstly, an 8 ohm Four10 is loud enough so that no one has to worry about coming up short when their amp is only running at half power. Ohms with these cabs is about connection not SPL.

Secondly, I have gigged with my 2 One10's and a Three10 (One10 and Two10) and used my 5 string basses and Aguilar AG700 with both rigs. These were old RnB, Blues, Soul and Funk style medium volume bands. I use this amp and 2 Super Compacts for the loud stuff.

I very rarely take one cab to a gig. My rule of thumb is if one cab sounds good, two will sound better.

What is your amp of choice with the Two10's?

Mesa D800+

But I was using a MarkBass LMIII before and that was very good too. The Mesa is a bit nicer for my taste, and I do use the built-in HPF to help me get the tight bottom end I like.

I like to use the cabs stacked vertically. On their side, there's a lot more bottom if you want it, but I like it better vertically. It took me a while to decide to try these cabs as I was a bit worried they would not have enough top end etc, but my fears were entirely unfounded.

Keep in mind the Two10 only handles 400 watts. Pumping 800 watts into it will destroy it in no time, especially with a 5 string.

Don't forget there is a bass EQ control, as well as an adjustable HPF on the D800+, in addition to a master volume

Just because you can push an amp, it doesn't mean you would.

edit: also, I'm pretty sure the Two10 are ok with more than 400W anyway.

Very good. I wish more amps came with an HPF like the D800+ does. BUt then... I actually don't crave for another amp anymore after buying the D800+, and that's a rare thing in me

Very true. My Four 10 plus Mesa 800+ comfortably holds its own against a Marshall 100 half stack.

Just be very careful with it, as the cab says 400 watts on it. I'm also going by my experience with the One10..the drivers are not meant to handle a lot of abuse or heavy B string use. A high pass filter goes a long way with these cabs, and of course having two of them would be ideal!

I disagree with pretty much all of this! ;-)

Most of the Two10 cabs do say 400W on them - we upgraded the rating after more testing but we'd already had loads of labels printed and didn't want to throw them away! The drivers have very high max excursion and big margin between Xmax (distortion) and Xlim (damage) excursion limits - having creased Acme drivers in the past there's no way I would accept any Barefaced cab having drivers that can't withstand everything bar serious abuse or very bad luck. They're also fine with heavy B string action - but obviously they have their limits like any driver.

Expect similar performance from one 10CR as you'd get from two decent 10"s or one decent 15" and you'll be fine. We've had very few blown 10CR drivers, just three I think. The hybrid resonator design keeps them from unloading until you're at very low frequencies so a highpass filter doesn't make all that much difference if it's set to remove subsonics. Obviously if you set it higher to remove audible lows then you'll free up excursion related headroom.

My 2 SCs with a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 comfortably holds it's own against a Marshall 100w half-stack, a Bogner Alchemist half-stack, and a hard hitting drummer Barefaced cabs border on the ridiculous in what they can deliver.
