Struggling to choose between a BB2 and the 210 here. I know the differences on paper but in a live setting, in a mix, I can't decide which will serve better. I tend to lean away from overly bright tone but like to hear the nuance of my playing. Without a high freq driver, how much articulation would I give away with the 210?
I've used both. You aren't giving up much of anything. The Two10 is "easier" to get a good basic tone out of. The voicing is very nice for bass. For most standard rock band settings, where you just plug a P into a head and cab, it's a better sounding choice. However, the BB2 is no slouch. If you're handy with EQ and/or have a cab sim, you can certainly get it to mimic the Two10 to some degree. If you want a bigger, deeper bass, the BB2 is the way to go. Or if you want the mids to really stand out without sounding over-EQ'd, like going direct to monitors, the BB2 is the better choice.
