Hello barefaced club! After much research on higher end cabs I've decided to look for a barefaced cab. Reading Alex's website and the forum's leads me to believe his product will work best for my application. Alex recommended the retro two10 which I had my eye on before emailing him. I live in Southwest Florida so I was wondering if anyone lives around here where I could try a retro cab and/or the hi-fi cab too? I also wanted to ask your feelings on the 12/4 ohm config, does anyone use the 12 ohm config? I am looking into a fender rumble 500 head to start with (350 watts @ 8 ohms) are you still getting enough power/moving enough air to gig with no pa help with a similarly rated head? I'm playing in a medium loud rock cover band with a blend of plectrum and pizzicato style depending on the song selection. Thanks in advance for the responses

The only use I'd have for 12 ohm is if I had the 8 Ohm Four10 and I could combine them for a modular 610. My Two10 is 4 Ohm only. It cranks very well with a 50 watt tube head (PF50T) or an 800 watt solid state head. So probably anything in between will be good.

New toy, first gig, big band on Saturday. Usually a BB2 gig, but interesting to see how One10 handles it.

I have 2 Two10S's. I run both at 12 ohms in the loud blues rock band. With my Aguilar AG700 I can take plaster off the walls.

I sometimes run a 310 with a Two10S at 4 ohms and my One10 at 8 ohms. The ohms switch just gives another level of flexibility when I mix and match cabs.

How much top end do you get out of the Two10? I briefly played monsterthompsan's and liked it a lot but can't recall the top end response. I'm used to not having tweeters, but do have 3" paper cones in my Hathors and they give plenty of note edge. I've almost pulled the trigger on a Two10 a couple different times, as I dig the form factor.

It really depends on the amp for me.
I didn't really dig the Monique700 or the D800 as being ideal matches with the Two10 but the D800+ was much better (the bright switch made a big difference) and a PF50T is really good with it.
I'd bet that a WD-800 would shine through a Two10.

The WD sounds insane with the One10. It sounds good with the BB2 as well but I need to work with the EQ a bit more to get what I'm looking for with the BB2.

I only had a brief spin with a BB2, but combining that with my so-far brief WD800 experience, I can see that it might take some knob twiddling depending on the tones you want. The WD800 is much more on the aggressive side of things to my hands/ears, and the horn in the BB2 might not like that so much.

Yea at first listen I thought it was great but going to another cab then back to the BB2 I need to find it's sweet spot with the EQ and BB2 crossover. It sounded a bit harsh and somehow I drove the WD into clipping with it not seeming loud at all. I think turning up the bass and low mids while taming some higher mids will get the depth I want. Love the extra EQ capabilities of the WD. All this has me thinking of a Two10s, the WD is absolutely perfect with the One10...:hyper:

2x210 and PF50T is my target config when funds are available.

Currently 210 and 800+, bright switch and treble knob can get you extra crispy.

PF50T won't do 2 ohms so you'd need the newer switchable ones and run @ 6 ohms I'm guessing.
I haven't had the opportunity to play the PF50T and Two10 with the band yet so I don't know how loud it'll be but the rig seems really punchy at home. (Mine's a 4 Ohm cab). It gets the house vibrating pretty darn good.
If'n I need more oomph, I'll try my Super Twin.

I think the BBII works really well with smooth amps. I use my Monique700 or my Eden WT800C with that cab and they're good matches.
