Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

I have a Super Midget and a Super Compact.
I am thinking of getting a Ampeg pf-50t.
Have anyone tried this combination? How loud will it play? (I am in a rock band)
- Barefaced documentation says that SM+SC combination will require minimum 100W for a clean tone when gigging with a drummer (and the Ampeg is only 50W)

I'd rather go with something more powerful. BF cabs "like" a lot of wattage. I drive my single One10 rated at 250 Watt with Quilter BB800 rated at 800 Watt (400 Watt & 8 Ohm) and it hardly breaks a sweat...

Tube power amps don't compare directly with solid state power. 50w in a tube power section might be more like 200w in a solid state power section. Give it a try, but in the end be prepared to have a need for a head with more power.

My cabs are different but I have tried my PF50T with my Two10 in a rock band (5 piece) setting. It was loud enough but I was starting to run out of clean headroom. My current/soon-to-be-fired drummer is pretty loud and rambunctious though.
I haven't tried the BBII or the SuperTwin with the PF50T in a band setting to compare. I'm sure the ST would be pretty loud with it. At least it feels like it would be when I use it while practicing.
I'd think with both cabs, you may be ok depending on your loudness requirement.

So do I. When playing at home I put my Thunderfunk on about 1/2 of one click on the master and it still sounds good. I think a 50 watt amp will sound good with either or both of those cabs. I'd also have a 500-800 watt amp to use when the big gigs come in. With 2 different cabs and 2 different amps you'll have a fantastic modular system.

My go-to is an Aguilar AG700 but I also use a TH500 and Thunderfunk with my SC and SM cabs. Great, great sounds.

IME if the amp sounds good then it's going to sound good through these cabs, but they do come alive when pushed harder.

Clipping doesn't matter at all. All that matters is power. If you use overdrive, distortion or fuzz pedals then you're using clipping to get that sound. Speaker voice coils always get hot, that's what happens when you're only a few percent efficient. The power rating is basically how much heat they can get rid of before they get too hot.

There are tons of myths about clipping and underpowering and so on. They're all myths.

What Rattlemouth tune are you playing?

The reggae gig should be interesting. I'm subbing with a band that I will meet for the first time that night.

Will be my first gig with my Big Twin and Super Compact. 1000 watts into them should be pretty loud. Heck, usually 1000 watts into the SC is loud enough, but since it is outdoors I figure I could use the BT as well.
