You should certainly consider stacked Two 10s.
Aguilar DB751 arrived today and just to test it in the lounge I plugged it into my practice One 10, absolute overkill I know. It was stunning how well that little single ten inch speaker coped with that very powerful head. Sure, I didn't crank it but the huge clean bottom end welly was unbelievable.
Band practice today with the Four 10 will be exciting. Then when my Two 10 arrives (hint, hint, nudge, nudge Barefaced
) and the Four 10 becomes a Six 10 combo my life will be complete.

Aguilar DB751 into Barefaced Four 10 was absolutely stunning. Huge tight bottom end, drummer said it was like a new band. Of all the heads I have played into the Four 10 this was a total standout.
Minus the Marshall in the bottom left which was the openers amp, this was our setup on Friday. The guitar players were extremely happy with my new gear. I like the Two10 flat on the ground, It definitely has more sonic weight oriented that way. Can't wait to gig a few more hours and really open it up. We're an all 2x10 band now but I want another Two10 already:/
Just received the email. Two 10s is packed and ready to ship. Fingers crossed that New Zealand customs is as quick with this one as they were with the Four 10 a couple of years ago.

Sound checked the Six 10 combo this afternoon. Threw away the DI and had to turn down immediately
I have my Dubster II out on a reggae gig tonight powered by an Sf-2 used as a preamp and Synq 1kO power amp. Things are gonna get heavy.

Anyone care to weigh in on my decisions? I've been making threads but I don't want to pollute the board any more than I already have. I've been chatting with Alex because I'm going to order a barefaced cab to go with a new bass amp I'm going to buy. I currently use a keyboard amp and a loop pedal with nearly all bass loops going through it, sometimes I use a drum machine but I'm not that worried about "coloring" the drum tone. Initially I was thinking of going with a 12 series barefaced, but my amp guy knows a "collector" who has a mint Sunn 300t he may be willing to part with. This is causing me to think I may be happier in the long haul with a two 10 or four 10, because they sure look sexy. However I think having a cab that doesnt add color to the sound like the big twin II could make me equally as happy. Anyone here have experience with both lines? Just trying to be diligent because I know once I place an order I will be ecstatic about anything I get 8)
Having put drums through my bass rig and getting nothing like expected I would be going with the PA type. Still won't be that flash with drums via Sunn but at least it's not cab coloured as well.
Well the drums are more something I do for songwriting purposes, and when recording time comes I just run them through my keyboard amp anyway and line out into my mixer. I don't want to be making decisions based on the drums because they honestly arent that important tone wise, I just need them from writing drum parts to translate into real drums. Thanks again for your response downunderwonder, you've been helping me a ton lately

I've had every 12" single driver cab in the 3rd generation (SM, SC, BB2). I had a One10 and a Two10. I currently run a pair of BB2 cabs as a PA for playing bass, synth, drum machines, and various other sampled instruments.
I don't know the Sunn amp well enough to say which line it would better pair with. I can say that a Mesa Buster was a lovely pairing with a SC. I haven't loved every amp I played through the Two10 as a perfect pairing, and I certainly have had amps I preferred with the 12" cabs, like the Buster. That said, for simply playing bass, the 10" line would get my vote. For playing other source material, like drums or keys, the 12" is probably a better way to go. A cab sim pedal like the OCSD really makes the 12" series a "better" more flexible choice.
IME the SC and Two10 were fairly comparable in terms of output and portability. The lack of a tweeter defeats the purpose of use as a full range playback cab. However the BB2 is an excellent choice for full range, so I'd suspect the Big Twin II would be as well.
If you ultimately want a full range with less color and deeper lows then go with the 12" cab. If you want a nicely voiced dedicated bass cab with a bit more vintage feel and a tighter low end (though still plenty of lows) then go with the 10" cab.
Ah geez these are tough choices. Seems I'll have to take a step back and see how much need I actually have for the high end frequencies. Although having these options to consider makes me feel spoiled as a musician, a good time to be shopping for new speakers it seems.
