Yeah that has happened to me on the odd occasion where i didnt get charged GST after the shipment arrived by NZ Customs - so i am going to wait to see if i get lucky or not first before contacting them just in case they let it go through without them charging me the 15 % GST.

There's a clearance fee that can be $50 - $100 on top of the GST portion. There is always the slim chance that the shipment slips through without any GST or fees.

Yes you will deal with FedEx for the clearance, they are the point of contact and take payment for GST etc. I always track the shipment and call the carrier as soon as it lands in NZ, to try to speed up the process. I've had shipments sit for days sometimes and clearances only begin after I hassle them.

I am considering a purchasing a pair of BB2s with top hats on the pretext that I will use them as PA. Only way I can justify it as I pretty well have a set of all the 10s. Can you put a bit of kick and bass through them in PA use with everything else and how do they cope in a PA situation?

Hi Tim1,

I use my pair of BB2s as PA speakers more often than I use it as bass cabs. I use them on pole mounts. It sounds good and can get reasonably loud for a medium size rooms (about 200 people). I usually run bass, keys, and voices through them with a bit of kick and sax if needed. I use a QSC PLX 3102 to power the BB2s.

So i just got a shipping update on my BB2 just now saying that it has just arrived in Auckland NZ Airport Customs. It was only picked up from Barefaced UK by Fed Ex just yesterday !!! I will now bet a hundy that NZ Customs will take longer to release my BB2 for domestic delivery lol

I have a BB2 and SM and love that setup but for a long time I've wanted to try a One10 or Two10S. I just received notice that my One10 is being shipped and will be delivered tomorrow!

They're very different. One10 is such an awesome cab.

I have the bb2 and soon for the Sm. Very much looking forward to that set up. Cant wait to see what adding the Sm will bring!

They're very different. One10 is such an awesome cab.

I play upright a bunch too and I'm interested in the new Acoustic Image DoubleShot but this has been out longer and has established a good reputation and I love the other Barefaced cabs I have.

The SM has more mids and is not as deep or bright as the BB2 but it's ultra portable and can get plenty loud and it's an amazing doubler cab for upright and electric players.

So, as a combination of the two, they complement themselves very well I assume.

...But, based on my One10, I suspect a Two10 might.

After much deliberation, I pulled the trigger on a Mesa D800 for my Super Compact. It's gonna be awhile before I can turn it up loud (apartment living), but I know it's gonna be awesome when I finally gig with it. I'm hoping this combo will be my "forever" rig that can do just about anything.

Careful!, I bought a One10 and liked it so much I bought a second one, and moved my BB2 on

I got a One10 first and loved it. Wanted to try a BB2 and also loved it but when I got the WD800 the One10 won out so I bought a Two10s. If someone local in south Florida wanted to buy my BB2 I probably wouldn't say no because I want a second Two10s.

Guys, those who used both 10" and 12" BF cabs with effect pedals, which one by your opinion works better with effects? My signal chain will include envelope filter+fuzz+octave soon so I am thinking what is better choice?

Can't say one was better or worse. I ended up staying with the 12" cabs to use as a PA. The 10's were never a problem.

If you are using octave, you may want the 12's. The 10's could not even begin to handle my B string by itself, much less with an octave pedal. No problems with the 12's.

I couldn't say one way or another either. I use similar effects but no envelope filter and they sound great with both. I personally have no issue using my octave pedal or 5 string with the Two10s. B string on the One10 is okay but nice and full on the Two10s.

Using the HPF on the WD800 cleans up so much, makes the B string tight and authoritative. I highly recommend adding that to your board if you don't have an amp with it built in.
