I mostly have used my BB2 PA rig for playback material, though not live drums. I do play quite a bit of deep synth bass and impact noises, which leads me to think you won't need a sub for "light" gigs, but we all have different ears and expectations. I have found that a sub is generally helpful for opening up the mains on any "smaller" system, just because you can spread the workload around. I don't have a powered mixer. I use a Behringer NU6000, which has a built in crossover for subs, though I haven't utilized that feature. I generally run a Mackie Mix5 or Mix8 into that amp.

Thanks for that, it helps. I am hoping that a pair of BB2s will significantly outperform any other similar setup.

same here...oh well

Now the biggest challenge is to decide what to get :
- an extra One10 for a 2 x OneTen set up
- a Super Midget

I gigged for the first time the One10 last friday and even in a small bar i had to push the GK 200 head past 12 (2ish), mind you the cab still perform wonderful as i was throwing dirt at it even with a low B. As i carry the cab by train (trolley) or taxi i wonder now if 2 cab is really practical. If i can get more volume out of the SM it might be the way to go for me

I have both One10 and SM. You can get louder with SM but you'll need more powerful amp. At least 500 Watt. I use my Qulter BB800 with both cabs and they really shine with more headroom.

Barefaced is a smaller company. I wouldn't feel frustrated because it's important for them to stay profitable and keep producing high quality cabinets.
If they gave every buyer in the past 30 days a refund, It would put a hurting on them if not bankrupt them.

I am glad to see them move a bunch of cabs at a discount knowing that they will be there for us next time we need one of the best cab's available.

I do understand how you may feel but in this case it wouldn't bother me.

FWIW, my savings on my Supertwin would have been about £220.

Alex has stated that it takes two of the One10's to equal the output from one of the 12's, so I would go with the SuperMidget if you want to keep it down to one cabinet. It will handle the low B much better as well. As mentioned, I would get a bigger amp though no matter which cab you get.

Agree completely. I am always willing to pay for good service vs the absolute cheapest price and completely support their cause, and the fact they got me my cab super quick in time for my tour. It's just that I've dropped around £1300 between amp repairs, new tubes, and the cab and strings. It's going to be a tight xmas!

Not quite what he said, here is his post #8833:
Why would a One10 be half the output of a Super Midget with the knobs in the same positions? There's only a 2dB difference in sensitivity and 1dB is generally considered the minimum increase you can hear. A Super Midget at full output has similar output to two One10 cabs at full tilt but twice the output in that sense doesn't sound twice as loud because hearing is logarithmic.

Actually it sounds like that's exactly what he said. He has said that to me before, and as the former owner of both cabs I would agree.

You can also look at the numbers.
Max output of two One10's = 122db
Max output of one Super Midget = 127db

???From the Barefaced website:
Two10s sensitivity 98db, maximum output 125db
Super Midget sensitivity 97 db, maximum output 127 db

I see, when I gigged my 210 Darkglass in same bar context a noonish level on the GK head gave ample headroom.

Do you confirm even the One10 can get much louder with a more powerful head?


In anycase I'll get a SM with the cloth, 9.5kg is still largely manageable
