Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

I saw a post in the BF Owners Facebook group that BB3 is now available…but there's no info available online. Does anyone have some inside info? Are there other new cabs on the horizon? Or an amp?
Interesting, don't see any mention in the official Facebook. Not a member of the group, but maybe @alexclaber could clear up any misinformation.

New logo. New handles. Not sure how different the rest of the design is.

I like that handle. The strap handles on my BB2's are my only complaint about them.

I notice that the tweeter control says "MAX" and "OFF". That makes me think the control operates differently from the one on the BB2.

Will be interested in learning more about this new model.

Looks like they're going with the same handle that's on my greenboy cab, which does work well. Still 800w handling and 8 ohm. Maybe same 12xn550 and horn, but different tuning/crossover/bracing/dimensions? I wonder if the revisions will show up in the other 12 line cabs?

Even if you get a Big Baby 2, it's still an awesome cab. If they have improved their design, it's only going from amazing to more amazing.
Yeah, more amazing… for other people! :D

I know what you mean, there's nothing wrong with my cab (and so much right!), but you must be able to sympathize given how new it is. That is an annoying fact of life in the retail world. Given how generous and willing Alex is with his communication, he could say , "if you can hold off,…" and BF would lose no business.

I doubt it will be different. I think the labeling is probably just to make it easier for most people to follow. There have often been questions about how the dial position correlates to tweeter/crossover level. But, I've been wrong before and perhaps there was a redesign.

From the FB page. Sure looks like there's more width to the cab. The BB2 is 22" X 17.7" X 14.6" so in the tweeter up orientation it would be 17.7" wide from left to right. This rig has a rack case which doesn't seem to have any overhang, meaning the cab is definitely over 19" wide now. Looking at my BB2, this cab seems to show more baffle around the left & right of the driver, so more support that the width dimension increased, which might relate to the plugging of the middle port. Now to see what the other dimensions changed and if the weight moved.

Maybe people had asked for 19" because they didn't like their racks overhanging the sides? I can see that as a perk, since that's how I'd use a BB. Maybe making wider for the secret 15 r&d.:hyper:

Assuming this is real, this is where, given how recently I ordered a BB2, I would have appreciated that thing which is never forthcoming: a courtesy notice that the thing you're ordering is about to be superseded.

From the FB user (who is evidently not in this thread) that is exactly how it happened for them. Someone is always bound to be "the last" whenever there's a cutoff. Sounds like you were just the closest TB member to that point.

Question: How do you come to buy a cab that isn't proposed on the website yet? Did you order a BB2 and received an upadated BB3, or did you have a direct contact with Alex, are you some king of beta tester?

Reply: I was just lucky enough to be upgraded because I ordered a BB2, and the kind folks at Barefaced emailed me and said "well, you can have those if you like, but we have a new one coming if you'll wait a wee bit."

Also from the FB chatter (for those not on FB), the new owner posted:
The top end is extended to the point these can work as genuine FRFRs when it's fully open due to a new crossover. It's slightly shallow, wider and lighter. The big change is the Convective Pumped Cooling system, which keeps the speaker cool, and so punchy, no matter what. That system, to me, makes the cabs sound broken in even though they're brand new.
