Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Why combo a Super Midget with the Big Baby 2, rather than using two BB2's (or two SMs) in combination? Just wondering how the combos might sound different. Thanks.
For me, I got my BB2 first. Then a SM became available to me locally at a great price. I use the SM for smaller indoor gigs mostly. I pair it with the BB2 for larger outside gigs when their is not FOH. Alex from BF said they pair up nicely!

I've paired BB2/SM before with Quilter BB800. Sounds huge, transparent and just right for me.

This is from SM sales page:
An ideal alternative to the Big Baby 2 for smaller stages - which will pair up as an awesome stack for very loud gigs

As I understand it, the clip light on the AG700 doesn't indicate anything bad is happening. It might be worth emailing Aguilar to get the full info.

I use an AG700 into an SM and BB2 and I've never been loud enough to set the clip light flashing, and that's my stupidly loud blues rock band rig!! What were you doing to the guests?
Trying to keep up with the insanely loud singers.

From the AG700 User Manual

Clip Light:
When the Clip light turns red it indicates that the preamp is being driven
into clipping. Input pad, Gain, and Tone Controls, including the output
level of your bass, affect how often the light will go off. Clipping the AG
700 will not cause any shutdowns or damage to your amplifier.
I'm well aware. The older AG500 would shut down all together.

I had the BB2 but wanted something a bit smaller that would do a loud band practice so purchased the SM. They combine well together and to be honest I think I prefer the SM as a stand alone cabinet as I don't have to worry about taming those really deep lows on the BB2. It is nice to have a variety of options. The SM likes a decent amount of power to bring up the bottom end and the Bergantino Forte HP I use with it delivers 600 watts into 8 ohms and really is a perfect match imo.

The only barefaced cab I have is the SM, and I am always surprised how punchy and big it can sound in a band setting by itself. Sometimes I put it on top of a Berg 112 (until I can snag another used SM), but tonally it is better on its own, and has even carried some outdoor stage shows by itself (with foh support). Lots of comments on the sound. I can't help but wonder if its wonderful mids would get swallowed up by the BB lowend? In the Barefaced cab comparisons that Alex has posted the BB and SM seem to sound significantly different to my ears. You guys have real world experience, so that is more than I can offer!

I'm going to have to live vicariously through you guys. Would love to try a pair of the BB3s (the new handles alone tempt me! :D), but I just can't justify replacing my BB2s. Looking forward to seeing your assessments. :)

Although, if I were to replace them, I'd also fight the temptation to try a pair of TWO10s's. I've only played my ONE10 at home so far, but I like the tone of it more and more every time I use it.

In the spirit (pun intended) of you having the full vicarious experience, I'll add that just before I ride the BB3 for the 1st time this evening, I will be shaking a dry, 1.5X (because one is never enough and 2 is always 2 many) Hendricks martini with 3 jalapeno-stuffed olives......just because :-)

Congrats.

Is dibs too early?

I'll be at my weekly basement jam tonight so I won't be able to join you (in spirit :D) with a cocktail. But I'll have a couple of Belvedere and tonics tomorrow evening in yours and your BB3's honor.

EDIT: Doh! And in puff father's honor as well!
