Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Lederhosen or it didn't happen!

And is anyone else curious how a tuba would sound through a BF cab?
Oh, it definitely happened!

Not my lederhosen specifically but there was plenty to go around.

I use an Aguilar TH500 with a Super Twin T.
Plenty of power! The Super Twin replaced 2x112 Aguilar Db cabs. No comparison and much easier to schlep.

Anyone used an Aguilar TH500 with their 12XN cabs? Any issues with needing more power with 2 x 12XN?

Decided to finally go to Aguilar. Was contemplating TH500 vs TH700, but the 700 is on back order at Sweetwater. I'm debating if I should wait the >1 month for it or just get the 500. Any input from people who have used either of them with 12XNs would be appreciated!

For background: I'm coming from a Trickfish Bullhead 1k, which is 1000 Watts at 4 or 8ohm. I have never ran a gig with the volume really past half!

I've got my Super Compact for a couple of years now, but I'm still amazed by its performance every time I use it.

Yesterday it was incredible: we where playing an outdoor gig in a bandstand in a public garden. We kept our small PA for vocals and keys only.
I wanted to try my brand new Quilter Interbass micro amp: 45W @ 4 ohm and 33W @ 8 ohm.
It turned out to be just loud enough, it sounded great with just a little saturation from the amp (a nice one)

Kudos Barefaced, the Super Compact is The Best Bass Cabinet In The World (IMHO)

I've been using a TH500 through 2 Barefaced 112's, SC/SM and BB2/SM, for about 10 years and I've never had a volume problem. With the Gain at 12:00, I usually run the Master volume between 9:00 and 12:00. For the loudest bands I might go to 1:00, but never any louder. Barefaced cabs make every watt sound louder compared to other cabs I've used and the dispersion easily fills every corner of the room, and stage. I also use an AG700 which sounds great.

I'm consistently blown away by how loud my little Markbass 350w gets with my Super Compact.
This past wknd, we had a gig where we didn't have enough channels on the main board. Short by one. I told the guys not to worry about it, I'll stay out of the pa and crank my rig. Played to about 100 people. During the first set break, I polled around and the folks at the back had no issue at all hearing me. Albeit, the stage was raised about 4 feet which definitely helped, but the throw to the rear of the venue was about 40-50 feet.
Every time I decide to pull the trigger on another BF cab, I'm pleasantly reminded that I don't need it.

Week 5 since I ordered my BB3 cab , wait time 6-12 weeks . Got lucky and found a Retro 10 cab on Ebay . Can't believe how loud that cab is paired with my Boss Katana 500 amp . TBH , I think I could get by with just that 1x10 cab.......AMAZING !

Those One10s do get pretty loud, in a good way. Comparing to my Two10, I'm realizing the need for a head with greater tonal controls, espcially in the mids, to accomodate for the differences. The Two10 is huge sounding, understandably.

I've played my Three10T at home for a little while now. It sounded a bit thin/stiff/harsh at first, but now it sounds great. I don't know if that's my ears adapting or the cones loosening up, but I'm very happy. I've mostly been playing it with my Mesa WD800. I played one gig (2 sets of funk/R&B, Mesa WD800, no PA support) with it and it did great.

Anybody have any experience pairing a Two10 with a Tone Hammer 500? Curious if the combo would be too "dark" sounding.

I totally lucked into finding a Two10 used last spring via GC - someone must not have known much about it because it was priced at $425(!) so obviously I had to buy it

Anyway it on its own with the TH the combo does seem kind of dark, but when I compared cabs and heads in various iterations with my GK CX210 and RB 400 it really wasn't as noticeable as I expected. Haven't gigged with it yet but I've had no issues during band practices.

If I was buying on my own I probably would have gotten the tweeter version just for flexibility but I'm totally happy with this one for the price. I do want to compare it with one of the 12s though…
