Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

ok am sure it's been asked but i got to ask for my self again before 1000$ are spent on a single bass cab.
the guys at barefaced say " Our 12XN driver is very clean sounding and very punchy - it's basically a 4x10" replacement in one 12" speaker."

is it really like a 410 replacement? you mean to say i can send the backline hartke 410xl cab back and just bring my 11kg super midget and bask in glory? for real?

normally when i gig i get a hartke 410xl cab and a hartke ha3500 amp as backline but when i go to rehearsals i have to deal with really poor combo amps and i could cry out loud for a real rig behind me at rehearsals so i got me a shuttle 6.2 amp but am still looking for a cab.

i would actually be totally ok with a markbass traveler 102P cab in terms of volume at my rehearsals but the delivery date of that cab has been pushed to april by my local cab seller and it weighs either 27lbs according to markbass or 33lb according to musiciansfriend which is considerably more than 23lbs of the super midget and i do want a cab that i will be happy to grab along instead of one that would make me wonder if i really want to shelp it through the parking lots

so do super midget users really think it is a 410 replacement or am i asking for too much really?

My SC has replaced a Genz-Benz Uber 410. I play in a 5 piece 80s rock band and have no problem being heard with the single 12" speaker in the SC. My stage sound is much more full and deep sounding. I always have FOH support, but onstage am competing with two guitarists running tube amps through halfstacks and acoustic drums with a guy that can bash 'em when he wants to. Keys are always FOH and only in the monitors onstage. My amp is a Genz-Benz Streamliner 900 and I can let it rip and hang with the band no problem. The single SC definitely has replaced my 4x10. And that Uber cab is no slouch either!

So nice to show up for a gig with cab in one hand, bass in bag on back, and head and cables in another bag. One trip in, one trip out. Life is good using a BF cab:thumbsup:

I'm really considering getting a second SC, not because I need it, but because I want the small stack. I'm afraid I may breaks windows and ceiling tiles will fall if I do:D

Lol! I do help the other guys, all the while telling them how awesome my one-trip rig is:woot:

The rest of the band loves how full the BF SC sounds. Guitarist on the other side of the stage says he can hear me better than ever now. Drummer loves how he can hear and feel what I'm playing.

If you "don't need to get really loud" and are not pushing your 410 anywhere near its' limits, then you probably only need a 210 replacement, LOL, and the SM should be fine. According to the website descriptions, the SC produces bigger lows and I assume will require less power to achieve a given low end volume than the SM, but the tweeter will add easily audible content up high if you eq it that way.

Yes, i too help the others, in fact i also take the PA so although i have a one trip rig i still make about 5 each way.
and yes, the band have made more comments (good ones) since i got my BB2 than at any point over the past 13 years with other rigs.
