@dgce have you ever used a Sansamp DI Tech 21 or VT pedal, they work wonders on that tone you might be looking for.

Gratful & Woody,
Well you guys are far more knowledgeable about Carvin electronics than myself. Sounds like Swapping out my B24S humbckers and ICON preamp for RJ2s and the Bromberg preamp will make the most sense. I thought the Bartolini pre might be an easier and cost effective alternative to swapping out everything. I do appreciate the feedback.
Maybe I just need to cut the crapola and order that damn B25S with RJ2s once and for all. Then I can A/B test it with my current B24S and decide for myself what's hot and what's not. Besides, any excuse to buy a new Carvin is a good excuse, no?

So apparently somewhere along the way some superglue got spilt in the battery compartment of my BB75... I don't remember this happening but whatever.
My question is this... has anyone had cause to replace the battery compartment on a Carvin? Is it fairly simple to do?
I'm looking to replace the pre-amp anyway so in theory I could replace it with a passive pre-amp and do away with the thing entirely, if I needed to.
Hey Carvin folks. I'm thinking on building a Carvin Icon 5 bass. Does anyone know what the specs are for the Bjorn Englen bass? Body woods, ect... Here's the pics...

Thanks DGCE!!

I've never tried them but gave it thought from time to time even before I got the Carvin. I would prefer to have the "magic tone" on board. But if I can get it out on a box, why not? Heck, Nathan East did I it for years before he had it built in.
I use a SANSAMP BDDI in from of my BX1500 and it is a glorious combination.
Not to get too far off topic, but has anyone used the Boss ME-50B Bass Multiple Effects with their Cavin gear? I'm not a big effects guy. In fact, the simplicity of a Sansamp is generally more desirable to me than a multieffects pedal. But an all-in-one magic box has always been a curiosity and maybe worth looking into if the thing actually works especially if it works at a loud gig.
Feedback anyone?

You are member number 298. BTW, I don't give numbers unless someone specifically asks for one. Often, people post here but don't care about getting a number.
