Gratful & Woody,

Well you guys are far more knowledgeable about Carvin electronics than myself. Sounds like Swapping out my B24S humbckers and ICON preamp for RJ2s and the Bromberg preamp will make the most sense. I thought the Bartolini pre might be an easier and cost effective alternative to swapping out everything. I do appreciate the feedback.

Maybe I just need to cut the crapola and order that damn B25S with RJ2s once and for all. Then I can A/B test it with my current B24S and decide for myself what's hot and what's not. Besides, any excuse to buy a new Carvin is a good excuse, no?

To be honest, that's what I'd do also if you can swing it financially. You could sell the one you didn't want a lot more easily than a pile of old electronics lol....

Especially if it's a fretted model, you should be able to get something for it. all my Carvins are FL's and aren't worth a dime lol.

So apparently somewhere along the way some superglue got spilt in the battery compartment of my BB75... I don't remember this happening but whatever.

My question is this... has anyone had cause to replace the battery compartment on a Carvin? Is it fairly simple to do?

I'm looking to replace the pre-amp anyway so in theory I could replace it with a passive pre-amp and do away with the thing entirely, if I needed to.

Had to replace my. New one fit right in place without any mod. Check the length of screw, the one that can with the new one was a little to long and came thought the front.

Hello all,
I just got a LB75 this week and would like to join the club!:bassist:
It's a pretty standard lined fretless except the fretlines are maple. It was extra, but worth it.
So far it sounds amazing, active and passive. The MM style pickup sounds great soloed.
For those who are curious, I have Ken Smith Compressors on it.

I use a SANSAMP BDDI in from of my BX1500 and it is a glorious combination.

Well I guess I should look into it. My current set up is a Carvin BR515 (basically a BX500 head in a compact kick-back 15" cab) and a BR210 cab. It's a fairly light yet powerful setup and plays nicely with my B24S, of course. But I suspect the addition on the Sansamp might really give my tone that certain something I'm looking for.

Thanks guys.

Not to get too far off topic, but has anyone used the Boss ME-50B Bass Multiple Effects with their Cavin gear? I'm not a big effects guy. In fact, the simplicity of a Sansamp is generally more desirable to me than a multieffects pedal. But an all-in-one magic box has always been a curiosity and maybe worth looking into if the thing actually works especially if it works at a loud gig.

Feedback anyone?

I had one. It was OK, but I eventually got rid of it. Too many effects that aren't useful.
I am now looking to replace it with a Zoom multi, probably a B2.1u.
Since I don't have it yet I can't comment specifically on it with a Carvin.
